I think we have some talented players. Ware, Sword, Thomas, etc. But I am tired of hearing how much better they would all be if they had XX complimentary player. The state of mind of the average college basketball player nowadays is "I could be great if I had the right surrounding pieces." Guess what, YOU need to be that piece! There are limits to god given ability, but if everyone is looking around for who is gonna be the keystone, no one is stepping up to be it. Jamont was much maligned among us, but he wanted to be "the guy", and he often was. He shot like 30% from 3pt range, but he wanted the ball if we were down three with five seconds left. Who on this team is that guy? No one.
Whatever. I have been a huge MSU basketball fan for 30 years, and this is the first year that I have actually had the opportunity to watch a game and said "Nah, there is probably something better on."
ETA: I am watching the game (albeit halfheartedly), but at this point the games are meaningless. We could win out and not even be close to NIT contention.
