We’ve heard over and over Knight runs the offense and handles substitutions. The mistake Pike has made is not getting rid of him and to bring in a competent offensive coach. Pike can clearly handle the defense.

Knight isn’t coming up with this offensive game plan on his own, he is running the offense the Pike wants him to run. The fault is with the head coach, not the assistant who is just doing what he is told to do.
Kind of like Smith and Schiano? I think the assistants have more autonomy than most think. His mistake is not firing him yet.

Actually it’s exactly the same thing. Smith was running Greg Schiano’s defense and Knight is running Pike’s offense. Do you think if Brandin Knight wanted to implement Loyola Marymount’s run and gun offense he could just do it on his own? He does exactly what Pike wants him to do.
Smith didn’t run it like Schiano expected and got fired. Knight needs to be fired. Should have been last year.
When Schiano took over the defense last year, he didn’t do any better than Smith. His yards per play was actually worse against easier competition. Smith is an awful DC, but he was an easy scapegoat for Schiano. Smith was hired late, didn’t pick any of the players, and the defense sucked whether Smith or Schiano were coaching them.

He has done that so many times not just today and most of the times he does we have momentum and the time out stops it!!
What drives me crazy is we rarely complete the pick n roll with a pass, and separately, we rarely pass to a back door cutter (Zrno was ignored twice on back door cuts tonight).

And the offense doesn’t ? Apart from Francis, and very occasionally Grant and Zrno, the players have no offensive talent. Especially the subs obviously excluding Francis.
The players are so bad on both ends that if Francis isnt in the game, other teams would outscore us even with just three of its players in the game. Think about that.
Even if the rotations and offense is knights responsibility… the head coach is the ceo of the team and hasn’t made the necessary change so it is his fault

Pike hired him (put him into the equation) and has not fired him (has not removed him from the equation), therefore Pike is the creator and problem with this equation.
