Until Ky gets a QB who can throw the football & hit receivers over the middle, like to tight ends, we will stay in bad shape as a team. Hope Barker has it, or even Phillips, or maybe Hoak coming in, for spring. the line must improve, but the QB is the main player for Uk to move forward.

He had better be able to paint it on them.

I watched receivers yesterday make plays on balls in front of them, behind them, and over them.

I saw players and teams that wanted to win and were willing to do what was necessary to do it.I haven't seen that on a game in game out basis from us in the past 2 years.

Simply put, have to have a good QB to win college football games. Have to have other things too of course but it starts with the QB.

QB talent is woefully thin for the SEC. We have one SEC level recruit on the roster. The other two are a total stretch. Maybe they are great but UK was the only major offer for them, not a ringing endorsement.

The QB talent in the SEC East is pretty thin(UT is the exception) hell Towles had as much talent as anybody but he threw this stuff in a suitcase and left(ok a couple of things were intercepted and he threw 2 shirts behind the suitcase)

Which one is that pray tell?

Folks...can't stress how important it is for this staff to go after a dual threat QB...

desperately need some dynamic play making ability... we are lacking it at every position...need to be able to move the chains and score from the QB position...

coaching staff needs to hit the transfer and juco trail hard to and find somebody that is battle tested and ready to play right away...

DB may be the guy when everything is in place...when the OL can compete at a high level...when we have WRs who are consistent and can make big plays...when we have a 1,200 yd RB...when we have an OC that can full unleash the play book and not hold back...

we have none of the those things...

Right now DB is going to walk right into what PT walked in to...a mess...

I think Drew will benefit from this past year. He is talented and I think the situation will be much more conducive to his development next year. I will still like to see the back-up get reps as part of a team development concept.

It really is/was amazing how bad the qb play in the SEC East was this year. Dobbs wasn't a good passer but he was able to lead UT's offense and got better as the year went alone with his passing, with Gier suspended he was head shoulders above the other 6 qbs in the East. Really hard to understand how 6 of the 7 had such poor qb play, and the real sad part is it might not be any better next year.

Dawson doesn't want the QB to run...
Towles was better for us under Brown the Dawson/my opinion

Shaun Watson is one of the best I've seen in a long being able to pass on the move. Hopefully that will be in Barker's repertoire next season.

Have you not seen Barker run?? He's as slow as molasses. You won't be seeing much of this from him.

Disagree.

Barker should have a much better situation, before Towles left our offense was losing a total of TWO players------from the TWO deep. Towles leaving might make the QBs job maybe even a little better, no looking over his shoulder or team division-----IF there was some. The two we lost weren't fan favorites either, NOT that I have a lot of faith in the fans opinions in general. The two we lost were both OL, and with EIGHT returning from the two deep with more experience AND some new talent I think we will be better there, the 5.9 JC will undoubtedly help, and the other two four stars could if the returners don't improve I don't think anyone should be able to argue that we shouldn't have better play at EVERY other position, with the two deep ALL returning AND some new talent also.

Hard to say about the D, lost some very good players there but Elam, Meant, Daniel and a few others need to step up on the DL, but in general the talent level should be better and the coaches surely learned some things, also I believe it is a given that we will have a special teams coach. Hopefully the two transfers help us at LB and we have some good talent returning, maybe Hatcher and Ware can put a whole season together and Josh and Eli will have a year under their belt, Kash may be able to help, hope he can redshirt. The DBs will undoubtedly be better, with FOUR four stars and two other freshman besides them starting a lot by the end of the year, (when have we had ONE four star DB playing much, let alone McWilson, Randolph, Edwards, and West?) and we should be in good shape for a few years there.

Our coaches need to get it together, but the returning talent should make their job easier with more experience, and hopefully the coaches learned a lot this year also.
