Listen up, Carolina! Don't sleep on Bill! Swapping our hoops obsession for some pigskin glory is like trying to teach a Tarheel to swim. Sure, it’s a wild ride, but with Belichick at the wheel - like a squirrel on espresso—anything's on the table! His mad coaching skills are like finding a hidden stash of Skyline Chili. Once he rolls into the football scene at UNC, we could see kids trading their basketball shorts for jerseys, stadiums popping like corn at a county fair, and a talent pipeline so thick it makes the Pee Dee River look like a kiddie pool! Yeehaw, let’s get rowdy!
I think he will. UNC will be in the playoff in two years. I'm telling you with the NCAA becoming like the NFL that was a slam dunk hire
Doesn't matter what state you play in now. Money is money. If can get enough together to buy a team you can win. Look at the Buckeyes
He better hope he can get by their big brother NC STATE... I'm not sure they can get passed Duke. The roster is still not impressive, not even close.
Coaching matters. Mack Brown got beat on game mangement a lot and being a double digit favorite a lot. I don't think Belichick has the talent this year, however, I think he will out coach a lot of the coaches he goes up against.
Pro game doesn't translate to college and vise versa. I think Bill will hang out for a while and go back into the NFL
Schedule sets up pretty nicely for them, IMO. I think he’s getting some smart, physical underrated guys that always seemed to perform well with him in NE. I think there is a lot of talent on the roster even before he was hired that just need plain coaching up. Think they’ll add several more guys in the Spring portal as well. Will be interesting to watch it play out.
He only coached 10 years without Brady. The Pats were already a Super Bowl contender with Bledsoe. A couple of those years could be considered rebuilding after the Brady Belichick Era. A couple of those season he was taking over new teams such as Cleveland & NE. Also, a couple of those seasons he made the playoffs without Brady. People act like he went 0-17 without Tom. Brady is the Goat and so is Belichick. They both don't get there without each other.
Folks' "love affair" with Bill will end very quickly after a few huge defeats.
Still would be a massive upgrade from losing while being willfully underprepared each week. Will they stay below average? They might, but at least they ponied up and invested instead of accepting the status quo from the last decade plus.
