The real story behind Malzahn leaving.

This is from my peopleassociated withthe Auburn program who would know this first hand. Michael Dyer had apparently failedmultiple drug tests, Malzahn knew about it, covered it up, and Chizik found out about it. Once Chizikfound out, hetold Malzahn to get out and find himself another job immediately. And apparently Michael Dyer is not going to be with the team again, and it looks like he may transfer to Arkansas State with Malzahn, which is the home state of Michael Dyer.

You can take it for what it's worth, but the people I know would know this information first hand. The Dyer leaving and going to Arkansas State I'm not quite sold on yet because that situation is fluid andI still think Auburn may pull out all the stops to try and keep him there. But the Malzahn cover up is 100% accurate. </p>

..this is the same program where the NCAA recently released a statement absolving them of any shenanigans.

Just example #7,964 of what a worthless pile of crap the NCAA is.

It wouldn't surprise me if Malzahn tried to cover something up...I'm just trying to understand how it's even possible.

That's the only reason I believe he was hired, and my people associated with Auburn are in agreement. I believe Chizik when he said he knew nothing about the Cam situation. I don't think he was involved with it. Lowder and Dye run that program, and Chizik is the nice pretty face they put in front of the media that says he doesn't know anything because he really doesn't know anything.

I heard after the Iron Bowl that Dyer was unhappy with his carries and that would probably be his last game there. (this was info from Auburn fans so no real source) He could go pro couldn't he? Also,I could see the relationship between Chizik and Malzahn being strained because of all the credit Malzahn got for last season. So that could be a reason for the split as well.<div>
</div><div>However, If Dyer follows Malzahn i'd inclined to believe your sources.</div>

a hidden drug test is what they force Malzahn out over? I'm not buying it. It may end up being true, but I just don't see Chiz being that much of an honorable or moral guy. Maybe I'm wrong

They were a few blown ref calls away from losing to both Utah State and THE Mississippi State University this year, and next year will only be worse. The weight of their guilt hung on them the longer they played in 2011, and expect the full hammer of retribution to fall on them in 2012. Why, Ole miss might even break their two and a half year Conference drought on them.

Chizik is a man of integrity that won't let anything fishy go on with his star players. Real Men of Genius.<div>

I think its funny how Auburns fans can spin anything on command. In reality, malzahn left them to get away from the dirt-but let Auburn spin it and end the end it comes out that Malzahn didn't have the "all in" character that Chizic requires of his staff, players, and everyone in the AU family.

This makes me respect Malzahn a lot more. Let the players play. The haters hate. And the slaters slate.

Do you think Old Testament God is going to reign down vengeance on the Auburn program? Whatever, your twisted logic is my wish.

let me see if I have your view covered here in regard to the NCAA and AU in particular.

1. you feel the NCAA is totally trustworthy, rule judiciously, and are fair and true to every athletic program in college sports.

2. see number 1 + AU was found to be "innocent" of wrongdoing in cam situation or recruiting period, wrongdoing by AU was above reproach. You feel AU runs a clean program.

does that cover it?

he left b/c he wanted to be a head coach.

Going to Ark. State while they are in a good situation almost guarantees him success as long as he is an above average coach. If he is successful, then now he has a great resume to go after a much better job than Ole Miss or Vandy. Great coordinator experience with great results plus head coaching experience with good or great results.

Flip side - he takes the Ole Miss job or Vandy job last year. He has an uphill battle. What if he fails? He might not get the shot again after that.

stuff about an offensive player the HC didn't. the RB coach may know stuff the OC doesn't know "yet". the closer the coach works with the kid the more likely the dirt is going to be known. or at least so it seems to me. much like a business. the sales manager knows what's going on with his salespeople sooner and in more detail than the CEO. i do think it stupid for malzhan to thing the HC wouldn't eventually find out if it was that big a problem.

I would never have though that drug test results are accessible by multiple people. To me, that seems like one of those things that should be monitored by the HC or somebody independent of the coaching staff. Of course, that could just be my naive assumption of how college football works...
