Refereeing women’s basketball is harder than mens in my opinion but both teams have to adjust or deal with it. Let’s see how the robot umpires do in MILB.
I used to ref intramural basketball games in college and it is hard to do and I was only being paid $8.00 per hour. These refs are being paid good money and when the ref is standing a few feet away and makes a call when nobody is touched is awful. We better watch our discussion on this because nccardfan thinks we’re obsessed by doing so.
Like I said on another thread don’t post on a topic you have no knowledge of. I also asked who are you to tell people what they should post about?
Womens refs are the weak link in the game. There are no excuses for the poor refs.
Nccardfan, since you saw the game yesterday there were 2 technicals called in Louisville protesting bad calls. One was on CJW and the other was on Emily, what did you think about the foul called on Emily?
Yeah she got hit in the face but you don’t talk back to the ref. She’s got a edge to her but here’s the thing, game was not in doubt. Walk away. You show up a ref and maybe you get T up in a game that’s close. Pick your battle.
BTW, did you see HVL’s no look fake?
She got hit in the face and there was no call on the play and they gave the ball to WF. There should not only have been a foul but it should have been reviewed. Instead they gave the ball to WF out of bounds that is why Emily complained. I agree we need to keep our composure when that happens but how did a ref make a call like that. His view wasn’t blocked he wasn’t that far from the play but he still made a bad call.
Emily is tough, tougher than probably the guys. If she went down clutching her face, they might have gone to the video replay to see if it was F1. The fact that she just turned around and barked at the official told them it was a play on. Plus we’re up by +25. Losing argument by her. I’m not defending bad calls.
