wrote. "I promise to work even harder than I have ever work b4 getting
in shape is my main focus... watch out for them DOGS next season!!!"

It's do or die for the RSS and the NBA next year, and for Stans and his job....... I can't wait...

though certainly not as big a story for you as hoping Renardo is a flop and Stansbury gets fired. But if you get tired following the two BIG stories to watch as mentioned before, you could also see a very talented Bulldog team try and get back to the tourney and possibly make some noise. Although I do realize if the first two stories go the way you hope, the last story will be a disaster.

The RSS and Moultrie would be lottery picks and Dee a 2nd rounder, Stans could then go out on top and retire... Now that would be some sweet poetic justice for him... A big a win for all, except for C34..

When have I ever said anything negative about the RSS? Now Stans is another story.
I think it would be great, we get a deep NCAA run, we have several players get drafted and Stans retires...

Why would it be great for Stansbury to get us deep into the NCAA tournament and then leave?

We would get to the Final 4 and Stans would promptly retire? WTF?

you and 34 can just hope for a horrible season so Stans will get fired. That sounds like fun. Of course you seem to already know how it's going to pan out, so maybe just skip it?

I've never once hoped for a bad season. I love winning. Even before Charlie Sheen. But history tells me we will not have a horrible season nor make any noise in the tournament, unless you count winning one game (perhaps) as noise. The regular season will likely also play out like every other regular
season in recent memory. That means beat up on some cupcakes, lose most
of the meaningful OOC games, play pretty well in the SEC with a couple
of puzzling/frustrating losses thrown in and an upset or two of someone
no one thought we would beat. So yeah, based off that I am pretty confident I know what the ceiling is. I thought I knew what the floor was but we kept lowering that this year.

would speak about our past season as being basically lower than anyone could have expected.

Although I realize several think if we just hired another coach, we would be equals with Duke, Kentucky and North Carolina and never lose a game we aren't supposed to again, the reality is we are far more likely to turn into Auburn's or Ole Miss's basketball program.

Auburn far exceeded most of their fan's expectations this year. Many people sincerely thought they would go 0-16 in the SEC. To win 4 was remarkable and could have easily been 7 or 8 if they knew how to close out games. With Sullivan and Ward in the backcourt next year, Barbee is going to actually have a few expectations to meet.

As for the second part of your post, there hasn't been a single post that declares us the next CBB powerhouse. Not one. That's a statement you make when you know that we have not met our expectations and you want to deflect the attention away from the truth.

And I am not on the fire Bury bandwagon. I would be happy with new assistants though.

Next year's team will have more talent on it than the 1996 team. Three potential draft picks(RSS, Moultrie, and Bost) for 2012 and possibly a couple more down the road in Hood, Smith and Gardner. I always want MSU basketball to win, but I feel our coaching or lack thereof holds us back sometimes.

Coaching is a simple job to evaluate. It's wins and losses. Period. If you win, it's because of the coach. If you lose, it's because of the coach. Even if it's because of the players, they're HIS players, so it's stillbecause of the coach.

I hold Stans 100% responsible for all the **** that happened this past season and for missing even the NIT. Yes, our players were dubmasses (Bost), lazy (Sidney), bad attitudes (Sidney and RayJohn2). But, even though they're at fault too,it's still 100% on Stans. Same ifwe make the Sweet 16 (or even futher) next season.Stans gets credit.

And when players get better it is because they did it on their own.

It takes talent AND coaching to advance in the NCAA tournament. Past history has not shown that Stansbury can do it but if we make it to the Elite 8 then coaching will have played a huge part of it. No team in America is talented enough to just roll out the ball and win in the NCAA tournament.
