The saddest part is with more conservative playcalling

We could easily be undefeated or have just 1 loss. Riley is improving players skills but doesn't have a knack for winning games.

I'm glad you have the ability to know how games shake out with different play calling. The play calling vs. BYU is what put us in the lead in the first place. The play calling vs. Miami allowed the team to come back from down 23. Granted, the play calling vs. Illinois likely cost a game. But I don't see much difference in the Wisconsin game based on play calling. Also, we were getting stuffed with conservative play calling vs. Northwestern. This game was lost because of a few really big QB keepers and a pick 6.

I wish Nebraska played and looked like some of the Stanford games recently with a power running game and an efficient QB to rely on when needed. But the reality is that our offensive line isn't built to play like that. They certainly aren't blowing consistent holes, especially when going against a team with a talented front 4. 94 from Northwestern and 99 from BYU absolutely disrupted our ability to do anything consistently. That starts and ends in the trenches and we frankly don't look like much there.

I'm concerned that younger guys aren't getting reps, because if this is all we got, then how is next year going to be better?

It is more execution than play calling - but clearly the IL and BYU games would be wins without end of game clock management complete melt downs. Could argue the same for Wisky - but I thought Wisky out played us. IL and BYU did not.

More conservative than three straight runs up the middle to gain four yards at the end of the Wisconsin game when Whisky has three time-outs? Not sure you can more conservative than that.

How about we say "With better situational play calling at the end of the game....." Still not sure that gets us undefeated, but I like our record a lot more than it is right now.

This! I would not want to be an OC at Neb. You're criticized if you pass, you're criticized if you run the ball. I still think the biggest issue is our OL. We are not creating space for the RB's, and Ameer isn't there anymore to make them look alright. Not to mention that TA is on the run for his life far too much.

Totally agree with you here. What a difference these two wins would make. ugh
