In Clevelands article Rogers Redding, the SEC's director of officials, "felt"....

based on the video evidence, that the call could not either be confirmed or changed. Thus, the call on the field would have stood due to lack of evidence on video replay.

Now, it has been made very clear by Veazy and this message board that Lee was clearly behind the line. Only thing that I can think of for Redding's repsponse.......

A. He is a dumbass.
B. He was not paying attention when he watched the film.
C. He is protecting the conference replay official.
D. MSU has zero political power with the conference.
E. A combination of C and D.

E. Redding knows he can protect his ref and the heat he will receive from MSU will be that of a match struck during February in the Yukon territory.

He's an unobservant dumbass who is protecting the conference replay official in a game involving MSU who has zero political power.

It's rare for Cleveland to outright call someone a liar, but that's pretty much what he did with the chief of SEC official's statement that the replay was unclear and not enough to overturn the call.

<span class="post-title">"its not clear" is a pretty good rebuttal to "he's at least a yard over the line"</span>
<span class="post-title">That may be so, but it's still far from the truth. He would be better off just saying "He was a yard behind the line of scrimmage, and the play should have been reviewed," which would be the correct answer.

doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things when it comes to money for the conference. for the last decade we have primarily shared the moneys of bowl games that we didn't go to. they likely expect the same thing out of us this year, as does most of our fanbase. so they just chalked it up to a crappy team losing aGAIN. it was pointed out earlier in another thread that if this had been Bama, LSU, Florida, or even OM this year then they may have said something different.

bottom line, it ain't costing them or anyone else a dime to see us lose a game.
