Most beat writers want the teams they're covering to be pretty good. It's a lot more fun to spend a lot of time with a group of guys who are winning than who are losing, not to mention you get free trips to decent bowl games, NCAA tournament games, etc. when you cover a winner. I haven't seen anything from Veazey to suggest that he's any different.
