Imagined. Hope nobody seriously believes otherwise...
Many teams/players grace the cover of SI over time. Bad things are going to naturally happen to some of them. People focus only on the ones with misfortune and voila' a jinx is born.

Clayton Kershaw was on the cover of Sports Illustrated last week and the best pitcher in baseball got beat up twice and the Dodgers got eliminated. Don't know if it's real or not, but I've seen it many times over the years.
Kershaw lost to cardinals last year in playoffs too. Braves almost beat him last year in division round too. Kershaw has hardly been lights out in the playoffs
