even with Ole Miss's win Saturday - assuming we beat Kentucky - we are both 4-3 after 7. No doubt our last 5 are tougher but who would have thought Ole Miss would beat LSU last week.

If we could somehow pull an upset - it gives us some wiggle room. I would feel a lot more comfortable if we would have 4 easy OOC's.

We will not win against OM. We do not match up with them AT ALL. After the last two weeks im starting to come around to the "we will win @Ark" crowd. They look terrible.

/Im not a closet "webel"
//I can just call a spade a spade...
///They are better than us in every phase of the game right now.

I think we can beat Kentucky and probably Arkansas. I doubt if we can beat Ole Miss with Wallace, Moncrief, and the other good W/R's. Don't think our D/B's are good enough to stay with them, and I doubt if we will be able to pressure Wallace enough. Also, it looks like they have found a pretty good (speedy) R/B now.

Let's say we beat Bama....

then lose the next two games to finish 5 - 7. How would that be looked at by our fans?

I still say we have a decent shot of beating Ole Miss. They play LSU tough every year although I never thought they would win Saturday. Kudos to their DC. With 6 players out on the defensive side of the ball, they played well defensively.

The biggest advantage they have is their coaches ability to scheme well and motivate their players to buy in and play tough. Ours simply cannot do that. We may have to motivation to play hard, but ultimately, OM will out scheme and out coach us as the game wears on.

Preston smith is gonna eat their tackles up if he's healthy.

I'm ready to see a healthy love and Redmond before I judge our db's. I think they could really make us better.

I still think we beat one of USCe and ATM but could drop one of Arky or Kentucky. I think the Egg Bowl will decide our bowl fate. Right now "on paper" I don't the bears look that great, because of the injuries. If they survive to the Egg intact, it could be trouble, but 2 of those injuries --CJ and the freshman TE--are for the rest of the season. They have NO TE. The game will come down to how well our DL plays. I just hope it doesn't come down to a field goal...

The biggest advantage is that we play them at home, where we've won 6 of the last 7 Egg Bowls played. Including some where UM was the clear favorite.

But on the bright side, we wouldn't keep seeing a certain repetitive post every couple of days.

but who would have thought Ole Miss would beat LSU last week.

On this board? MSUDC11, although he had a loss at Vandy. Palos verdes had a "maybe."

Not one poster in Prognosticators had a win at UT and against LSU. Of course, most had us beating AU and Mizzou.

Of course, we already have more wins than FlabLoser and Will James predicted for the entire season and will only need to beat Idaho to equal their win total combined, so there's that.

No one last week thought y'all would beat LSU. That's my point especially with the 6 def players out.

Problem is that Ole Miss has already played 5 conference games and we have only played 2.

If LSU and OM lined up and played 5 more times this year--assuming the bears are down 6 starters-- LSU wins all 5. Miles did an absolutely horrible job of getting his players to take the game seriously. They came out of the tunnel skipping and mocking the bears while doing "landsharks" to the crowd. I saw more smiles on sideline shots before the game than gritted teeth or snarls. No intensity. No focus. Just clowns.

Miles is a 17ng joke. The only reason he is still there is that he can recruit like a sonofabitch--though that's probably just LSU. That sorry bastard is 3-3 against OM since he got there. We are 4-2 against them over that time period.

Miles is 3-3 against nick saban. The fact he has the same record vs OM is embarrassing

Maybe but the over the next 5 years OM will probably win a couple of games against them and not really have the better, more talented team. Sumbiches just love to play LSU.

Why is everybody freaking out

Why are we comparing these games so much

Landry and Beckham had career, NFL first-rounder type days against us. They were unbelievable.

Mettenberger decides to go back in time and turn into Mettenberger of 2012 against Ole Miss and toss
3 INTs. If I remember correctly he absolutely threw two of those of for grabs. A little too much confidence in
those potentially epic WRs. And Les Miles, per usual, messes up clock management at the end.

Who cares, they won.

Lets take care of business please.

We should have a decent shot at them, USCe, and A&M. But we likely don't.

If we finish 5-7, that will mean that in the past two years, we will have had a no show against Bama, A&M, Ole Miss, and Northwestern (two of which cost us wins, two of which turned losses into embarrassing losses), half of a team show up against OkSt, and at best, we will have had very winnable games against Auburn and UM and winnable games against USCe and A&M without coming through in any of the four. More likely we will have had a couple of more no-shows in that stretch also. I know we won't fire Mullen at the end of this season, but he will have earned his pink slip by that point.

Every single one of your statistics is wrong.

Les has been at LSU since 2005. While at LSU he beat OM in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2010, 2011, 2012. He has been defeated by OM while at LSU in 2008, 2009, and 2013. He lost to OM once while the head coach at Oklahoma State. His all time record against OM is 6-4. His record while at LSU is 6-3.

If you are referring to the same time period in which the LSU-OM record is 3-3 (2008-2013), the MSU-OM record is 3-2, not 4-2. If you were referring to the same time period that MSU was 4-2 over OM, then the LSU record, over that same time period, would be 4-3.

During the time period in which Les has been the coach at LSU (2005-2013), MSU has defeated OM 5 times and lost 3 times. MSU has never defeated a Les Miles coached LSU team, and they have played 9 times.

I was quoting the newspaper, which said Miles was 3-3 against OM. Obviously they must have meant since the Nuttsack era. Looking at the last 6 games by either team against OM, LSU is 3-3, MSU 4-2.
