The slow walk OC may mean Sellers will return

Im certain Beamer already knows if Sellers is back or not. IMO, if he wasnt, an OC would be hired already bc recruiting and portal is starting and they wanna know who they’re gonna play for.

This slow walk means 1 of 2 things:

1. no good ones want the damn job

2. Sellers is definitely returning so Beamer and Sellers are both looking at candidates to see who can fit his style best and improve him

If Sellers was 90% gone, and be real they both know by now, an OC would be hired so he can recruit or portal a QB who fits the OC, not vice versa


Now is that good?? “Sophomore Slump” is real. Sellers has started 2 years. If 2024 Sellers can come back, especially with Harbor emerging, its better than an unknown. No elite QB is portalling to us

As for the sophomore slump? His passing stats were actually really similar to his first year.

Ohio States OC, the #1 ranked team in the country and arguably the best team in the country over the past two years....just accepted the lowly USF head coach job. Now, I'm not going to disparage USF too bad.....I'm just saying that is a helluva downward move.

There is ZERO REASON we can't get a big time OC to come to USC......other than we are just cheap bastards. THAT is the only reason. Pony up the $$$$ and I promise you they will come. And they'll give it a good 75% effort, which is 100% better than some Walmart greeter with no coaching experience that we seem to settle on every single time. We got Lou Holtz and Steve freakin' Spurrier..... we CAN get anyone. We just won't. The suffering will continue. Makes no sense other than $$$. Our fans have been taken advantage of for decades. Until the suckers wise up and stop paying for a crappy product, it will continue.

If Beamer is letting Sellers have any say whatsoever in who he hires as OC, that is reason enough to fire Beamer today.

I keep saying Joel Gordon at South Florida is the next OC we should hire. He's a proven game day situation play caller and a hell of a QB coach(see Brock Purdy). His offensive play calling puts up a lot of points and he adjusts to the players he has on the field.

It makes sense- your logic. Honestly I now hope that is the case. A better o-line and much to prove for his draft stock. I also don't think anyone was picking up the phone trying to poach him after this season.
