championship game format was self defeating from the beginning...and is about to enter the all time stupid zone. By not expanding and having two division leaders playing in a real championship game the lame brained top two teams rematch game now almost guarantees not only a rematch but a single team qualifying for the college playoffs....unless you are Oklahoma. Who is going to beat Oklahoma twice? When the playoffs go from 4 to 12 in 2026 you can bet that any second place Big Dumbass conference runner up will at best be in the play in group and not the first round bye group. And...more importantly WVU's path will be much harder.

12 playoff teams will make it unnecessary. Expansion would not make WVU path any easier.
Perhaps we should re-hire Doc Spears. The greatest coach of all time at WVU because he went to 1 bowl game in his entire career.
Quit hating on Spears.....he didn't coach in an era where there were 45 bowl games...or else he would have more!
Adding the CCG was essential and allowed the BIG 12 to participate in playoffs more often than without. That said, it wouldn't be a bad idea for the conference to grow as they move into their next set of contracts.
