Anything available for around $300 a month?

This place is a whole different animal for little ole Lexington. Wife and I stopped in yesterday to browse around and were blown away.

Walked into Arhaus and they had a nice sectional for 30% off, brought it down to a modest $7,500.

If it wasn't for Shake Shack, which is the GOAT, not sure when we would go back.

Not sure how SS is GOAT. Thought it was way over priced just like the rest of the place. $41 bucks for me a gf and 9 year old to eat a meal.
5 guys has much better burger and fries in my opinion.

I beg to differ. Their single patty burger costs over a buck more than the 5 guys equivalent. And if you like those frozen ORE IDA fries better than the freshly cut potatoes at 5 Guys, then I guess I don't know what to tell you.

5 Guys is better. TS.

I do enjoy the atmosphere of The Summit, at least for now before the huge crowds begin. I can come in the back way via Lowery, park, and get dinner and walk around/hang out for a couple hours, and have a nice night with the wife.

I've only been to the Summit in Louisville and it SUCKS, which means the Summit in Lex must be complete trash. It's a freaking shopping center. You really can't walk around as it's one big parking lot.

Pretty much nailed it. Except lex has a subpar shake shack. By far the worst one ive eaten at and ive eaten at a few locations. Surprised they allow such low quality at a location.

I'm not surprised. Shake Shack seems to be going the way of Five Guys. Explosive growth in new locations without good management to ensure quality. Restaurants are already difficult to manage, especially fast food. How do you roll out a ton of those things and ensure quality? Very difficult. I was a big Five Guys fan, but the ones in Kentucky have been a disappointment.

I did go to a Shake Shack in Chicago two weeks ago and I was pretty impressed. Solid burger - not a terrible price.

Exactly. Cant control quality with this type of expansion

Five Guys is a franchise, so quality could be a franchisee problem. I am not sure about Shake Shack.

Five Guys teamed up with the local prison work program, tbh. Some call it progressive, I call it dangerous. Lexington location went straight downhill after they did that. Might as well pick up panhandlers and shuttle them to the 5 Guys grill. All to save payroll and rehabilitate petty criminals. Sad.

Had an interview for managing with Shake Shack last fall for the Summit location. They are corporate own and a couple things threw me off from going there. They told me straight out its "
not about the food" its about creating the right atmosphere in the right location. If you don't know their history it is pretty damn unique and does translate well in the NYC type scenes. Just think they may have over estimated the Lexington scene lol ... and FYI they choose Lex over Lville because Lville is know for having great food and didn't want to open vs that.

Natalie Diehm

Shake Shack | 24 Union Square East

if you want her email or phone # just pm --- Nashville and Louisville lost out to Lexington because of the feared competition due to those places being known for the food -- Lexington is NOT known for its food but the idea Lexington can appreciate a fun place in upscale location may seem false to you but oh well

So they fear the competition in Louisville, but not LA, Chicago or Vegas? Or Miami, Atlanta, Baltimore, Philadelphia, Dallas, Phoenix, and Boston. [laughing]

Got it.

Edit: I emailed her and you're right, she told me "we don't really care about food, we're just trying to create a certain scene, and Louisville was far too intimidating. After Lexington gets its footing, we're looking at Beaver Dam, now that the Arby's rest stop is gone we're quite confident we can penetrate that market fairly easily. If you know anyone who'd like to run it please send me their names"

Oh, and while I don't doubt for a second quality control is suffering w/ a nationwide massive corporate expansion as they're undergoing, 5 Guys is Hardees compared to Shake Shack. My Shackburger last week at MSG was fast food perfection. :fire:

Also love the constant whining about the price at Shake Shack -- and people always say IT'S $15 FOR A BURGER, FRIES, AND A SHAKE THIS PLACE IS COMPLETE ******** WHAT A SCAM

Here are the prices for those 3 items at other fast-casual type burger places, directly from their Lexington Websites:

Shake Shack: $14.17
5 Guys: $13.84 (-.33)
SmashBurger $12.57 (-1.6)
Burger-Fi $14.21 (+.04)
Freakin Unbelievable Burgers ([eyeroll]) $12.97 (-1.02)

So, $13-$15 for your 2000 calorie lunch. I get hating on Shake Shack is the new cool thing, but at least ***** about your service or not liking the actual food/location -- b/c the perception that there is some huge price discrepancy compared to it's *actual* competition is simply false.

If that's out of your price range for a slightly elevated fast food experience, I completely get it, as that's indeed pretty expensive. I'll pay the extra $1 for Shake Shack 10 times out of 10, if we're putting it up against it's peers, but that's just personal preference.

Sounds like many of you better stick w/ the Value Meal at Rally's or McDonalds tho. $3, boom!

The one here sucks because it's making Nich at MOW more of a clustershit than the clustershit it already is.

Agree there. Anyone complaining about the cost, even at the reduced lex shake shack quality, is maximum simpleton.

Call me a simpleton, but I'd put a Classic Double at Wendy's up against Shake Shack. Yeah, Shake Shack may be a little better, but it's not a slam dunk.

Might not be a slam dunk every time but Wendy's is a shot from the owner's suite on the other end of the arena that you slapped with your pecker. I mean Jesus.

-went to burger fi last week...good stuff.

-haven't done shake shack yet as I don't do "hype", I'm far too sophisticated/busy to fight crowds for a burger.

^ I get that. If my first experience with ANY food/restaurant was in that cluster-touch nightmare out there, I'm pretty sure I'd come away disappointed as well.

Pretty much why I'm fairly certain I'll never visit, despite being a big Shack fan. No need to ruin my good feelings.

People that get really hyped up and into fast food when you can just buy some meat at Kroger(s) and make a burger 10 times better in 10 minutes are weirdos. I get WHY you would eat fast food but the people that actually start going crazy about fast food and hyping it up like it's a great meal are bizarre. Just like the in n out people.

Place an order online for 6:30 --> show up and have food in hand at 6:33.

That's exactly what happened both times I went even though there were 50+ people in line.
