Always in the forefront of many of our forum conversations, there is little new to add.

In recent years, LT is usually in everyone's pre-season east top 3 picks. I'm sure nothing will be different this year. They graduated a handful of remarkable players, but believe you me, the cupboard is never bare down by the lake.

I reserve comments about playoff potential until later threads specifically on that topic. But I see no indications that the Titans will not enter the playoffs at 10-0, and almost assuredly the number one seed.

What's you opinion?

Actually, looking at the record, LT has a pretty easy schedule. Only a few teams on there with a .500 record or better.

They are no longer feared. Salem took that away from them. They will be good but I anticipate a drop off. Teams will no longer walk on the field already beaten. Similar to what happened to Phoebus. Of course, that's just conjecture and IMO.

GL on their season.

Salem didn't beat a team in the state championship, they beat a program... Vice versa when LT beat Salem in the previous year. Programs like LT & Salem reload. Ewell will anchor the O and D lines, while Hughey will be back under center and at linebacker. Mix that with the athletes they have and aggressive play and this is yet another strong team.

I said LT would be good. You lose the State Player of the Year (among others) and the State Championshup game, you appear no longer invincible and take a step back. IMO.

Now, with all due respect, I thought Salem would take a step back last year too, though I had no doubt the strength of their program. Like LT, the schedule is not very hard for them but last year the Spartans had to beat 3 undefeated teams in the playoffs to get their rings. They proved their merit and proved me wrong. May LT do the same. Should be exciting.

I think this year will be different depending on the hardest regular season 3 game stretch LT has had in years. WB, NW and Norview. NW and Norview games in 2015 were games that LT should have lost but "should've, could've, would've" don't count on the W-L column.

Better than joining the Shanti "BS" League. Lets see you were the original Bo Jackson (soccer and baseball stud) got recruited by Woody Hayes during a frisbee tournament, played centerfield for the R Braves and led the team in hitting ( Murphy was your roomate) and lets not forget MMA Champion by beating a man to death for sleeping with your wife. Now thats something to hoot about.

I ask you nicely when you played for the R. Braves. No response. Murphy played 1/2 season in 76 and all of 77. Not one person who was born or was from NY were on those teams.

Could be legit might not be. Who knows?

Also forgot one. Ray Perkins had open tryouts for my beloved NY Giants. Don't remember the year. Maybe 79' or 80'. I was encouraged by friends to try. Made it through a few cuts till we scrimmaged in full pads. Caught one across the middle and the lights went out. Caught the ball but I was done. I was gonna get killedat that level. Another true story.

Also true is that I'm now a 62 year old alcoholic with two pieces of lead that hang from my *** most people refer to as legs.

But for my sons, I prefer anonymity.

They had open tryouts where anyone could go?

Where are each of those three games being played this year?

D'OH!! Never mind - forgot about DP's schedule he put in the OP for our convenience.

The good news is, after that three game stretch, there should be smooth sailing for the Titans for six weeks until the playoffs. Which could have its downside, too. But that should be a good opportunity to get everyone healthy and relatively well-rested.

You are right. Transfers are always a plus. Haven't heard but a few. Honestly, I don't know if they will be impact players right away.

I guess he was Mark Wahlberg playing Vince Papale from the movie Invincible.
vince made it. I didn't stick past my lights out moment but at least I left on my own. I quit. I figured I was gonna' get cut eventually. i was fast. I was elusive and there wasn't an object I couldn't catch but I was just a bug waiting for a windshield. No thank you. I would never have Tried out on my own anyway.

it's not like this is a success story guys. I made a few cuts. That's it. But at least I have some stories that are true.

I had an open try out with the Tampa Bay Devil Rays back in 2011 when I was a junior in high school. Joe Maddon and Evan Longoria begged me to sign.. I decided to play in the China Basketball Association until I tore my ACL.. Who's next lol???
I went for a tryout with the Professional Wheelchair Rugby National Team and I would have made the damn team till some punk kid hit me so hard it knocked me out of my chair and I couldn't get back in without assistance. They gave the spot to him. His name was Jason Street and he was from Dillon, TX.

The stories are interesting guys but if you want to respond appropriately, they should be true.

But we'll take your word for it. Spent a lot of time in Hong Kong. Very Americanized there. Still, the crowding and pollution was not for me. The Chinese love their Basketball teams. I'm sure you had fun.

I was a six-time pro bowler for the Ravens in only four years but I got tired of football. Later on I was playing bocce ball at the lake and that is where Greg Popovich noticed me and tried to get me to come out and play basketball for the Spurs. I fell one time and had a pretty gnarly cut on my knee. After dressing the wound with a bandage I was offered a MD position at Carillion which is what I do now for a living.

Yes the Giants did hold open tryouts, I know a guy about the time Shauntclair was around there that tried out and made the team for a couple of years.

Nice to hear a confirmation of the tryouts. Nice to hear there was a success story there.
