I know many a person that has emailed Strick their thoughts about the basketball situation and put their names at the bottom of it.
I say a ton of things about our basketball program on facebook- and usually get plenty of responses- so everybody has their name in plain view there
People should never say bad things to the players right after games- in person, facebook, twitter...thats not the time. But if players want to be part of the "social media craze" - then they should expect some people being critical. Nobody said social media was for positive comments only. If you dont want to hear negative ****- keep your *** of twitter or play better.
I personally think its dumb to be try and friend a player on facebook- but they dont have to add you as a friend either. It's their choice.
What a message board does though is add a bit of freedom to express your thoughts. You say 99% of the people here wouldnt say these things to their faces- but that goes for all walks of life. When you break up with a girlfriend because you have met someone else that is half gymnast and half dirty little girl- you dont tell your girlfriend that. You tell her I need some time on my own, it's not you it's me, I just cant handle a relationship right now...Very few people are completely honest face to face when what they have to say will hurt or anger the other person.
