I was aware of the tray you are referring to. I assumed there would be grass on it all year round without the need to put new turf on it. I'm pretty sure I'm not dreaming this up though - they were rolling out new turf...

Yeah its new turf, put it down after the Fiesta bowl. The grass has no root system so there is no way for the cleats to get any grip. The grass will just roll or rip up. It made me mad because it is a serious safety issue whenever new grass is rolled out and played on.

They did the samelast year for the BCS game in the RoseBowl and I don't recall there being any turf problems then.
