Grenada goes down 40-2. The U's defense holds Grenada to -5 total offense. That's right bitches, -5. -17 rushing, 12 passing. The D is for real. Hate all you want, but I still think we've got a shot at state. The D is that good.

That's because you don't have to be that smart to be good at defense. I remember talking to Ricky Woods one time about 5-6 years ago, and he said that they'd basically run about 10 offensive plays at most, because that's about all their players could handle. Of course, SP would have enough talent that you could know what was coming every snap, and they'd still move the football.

Yet, we wonder why so few of those players ever make it to school and/or stay in school once they get there.

There's a reason we refer to Eddie Strong as "The Professor." You guys can say what you will, but it still remains a mystery to me how you haven't gotten slapped getting our guys into school. Flame away.

Don't spoil it. I grew up right around the corner from one of his teachers. And I met him once. I'll stop there.

Tupelo is rolling as well, scoring 42, 44, and 47 in their three games. They have outscored their three opponents 133 to 14 and one td came last night against the backups.

I can't disagree. It was probably even more of a miracle for Chris Strong to get in school. However, I still wonder how much of that is SP and how much of it is common to most Mississippi public schools.

You could make the argument that SP gets the reputation primarily because they have more D-1 athletes every year than most MS schools, so it's just magnified when they have players who can't get into school.

I was wrong. Pogue has the D playing lights out. And Croomp, we'll see. Could be next week, but if our D keeps playing at this level, who knows? It's going to be fun seeing what happens regardless.
