The Vandy game is the turning point

I think the team is now at a crossroads, the season could get ugly or it could be saved. The Vandy game is now the most important game for one reason...

Winning the Vandy game sets UK up for a bye week before Mississippi State. I believe that the momentum of beating Vandy is what can save the season or losing could end the season on spot.

The team is disorganized right now, they need some air and some time to get away for a restart. The fans are fed up and need something to get them back believing in the team/staff.

Beating Vanderbilt going into the bye week sets you up for 2 weeks of showdowns vs. Miss State and Mizzou. The extra week of rest and practice is needed now more than ever. Getting everyone healthy and mentally prepared during the two weeks leading up to Miss St. could be season changing. Coming off a win going into those weeks gives the guys motivation to go out and finish strong. It gives the coaches a chance to implement some new things and make some evaluations that are desperately needed.

It also comes at a time where it can setup a big home game for the fans. Winning 2 of 3 games against teams we SHOULD beat does not make UK world beaters, but it can gives us hope. If this team shows the fans they have a fight left, I think there could be a rocking crowd vs. Miss St. similar to SC back in 14'.

2 weeks to prepare, a motivated fanbase, and a Miss State team that looks beatable have the makings for a turnaround game. And if you win that game...momentum to go beat Mizzou or even a vulnerable UGA team is there for the makings. It's a chance to reverse the trend of the 2nd half slide of the last two years.

But it all starts with beating Vandy...because the most important part of this Vandy game...Big Blue Madness is during the bye week. If you lose that game the fan interest is gone and also all hope of a bowl. I really want Stoops to turn it around and hope he does it this year! Right now I believe Neal Brown, Kiffin, or Leach need the job in 2017...but hopefully Stoops can do it and we won't get to that point.

No room for error in your schedule, not one dropped pass, one fumbled turnover, not one dropped interception that should have gone for a TD. We have had more than our share of those, maybe it is time for everything to go right.

Well, they didn't look disorganized on Saturday, so hopefully that is a sign that things are back on the upswing. But who knows, this group is so fragile.

I'd love to see them show some fight against Bama but the Vandy game is the start of 6 games they have a chance of winning 4 or even 5 with UGA looking like dog doodoo and a punchers chance against UT.

Due to the USM loss, SC was the first turning point game. Next is Vandy, then MSU, then Mizzou. Each will be a turning point game as long as the previous game was a win. Cats need to sweep these 3 games. JMO

I think we go 1-2 that stretch. Hoping for 3-0 but don't think we can beat Miss St or win @ Missouri
That's probably a safe bet. But what has Miss St or Mizzou shown so far that makes those games unwinnable?

I think UK, USC, Vandy, MSU, and Mizzou are all about the same level of bad. It's a tall task to ask this team to beat all four of those teams and it's hard to be too optimistic about our chances, but should it really be too tall of a task?

Either that or pull a BIG upset, like USCe in 10, coming within 3 of Cam and NC Auburn in 10 (TWO four stars playing), or ending the TU streak with a WR at QB. All under the worst HC in history according to some, although some of those are now giving that honor to Stoops, not surprising for that group.

UK has to beat Vandy and win two of three between Miss. State, Missouri, and Georgia. I'm putting Georgia in there because they haven't been impressive. Now the odds of UK making a bowl are slim but they aren't zero. However a loss to Vandy then UK will have no shot.

I agree that MSU and @Missouri is really when the season will be decided. I thought we'd beat SC and Vandy, and still feel that way about Vandy. Beyond that it is anyone's best guess beyond APSU.

I don't think UK sweeps Vandy,MSU and Missouri. However IF they do, I think we have a legit shot at Georgia since it is a home game with the momentum of winning 3 straight SEC games and 4 out of 5. I just haven been impressed with Georgia and Ole Miss beat them like the bulldogs owed them money.

Last year we heard that the Vandy game was the most important and we laid an egg. Then we heard it was the UL game after that and we didn't plan for Lamar Jackson. Then it was the USM game and we all know what happened there.

Vandy and State are always the most critical games on our schedule because they are so often the only two we stand a chance in. No different this year.

Georgia is WAY over rated and is now (as of today) still WAY overrated at # 25. We stand a better chance beating them at home than beating Mizzzozouuuuu on the road

We will beat Vandy and I think we beat MS State. Need luck and a perfect game at Mizzou

Vandy is a game we have to win in order to prolong interest in the season. That has been Stoops problem from game one of his first year,he always manages to get himself and the team behind the 8 ball with no margin for error. It happened much sooner this season,it is just a shame that we get to this point every season. The South Carolina game was the same situation, since the Alabama game is next week it buys us a week but we have to pay for it by taking a beating

Why does everyone get all excited when we beat USCjr every year?...only to let themselves down. 17 points wont get it done against any other SEC team on our schedule besides maybe Vandy. Thats the only real shot at an SEC win left on our schedule. And thats me being as optimistic as I can.

Beating Vandy is nothing. If we want to be a real program, for gods sake we shouldn't even have to think about the Vandy's of the world. Smh

they might beat Vandy, and maybe Austin Peay, but that's all I can see. 4-8. Just what I predicted for the last 2 years and this year too.
