Anyway they set Arya up for a spin-off with the way her story ended?

They certainly set it up that way. The only spin-off I'm aware of right now is the prequel with Naomi Watts. She's a great actress, and probably expensive, so it'll be interesting to see how long her character survives.

Have seen that mentioned. Have also seen that some believe Tyrion’s discussion with John about coming to see him in 10 years at Castle Black could have to do with the show coming back years down the road. Who knows.

The only confirmed spin off in the works right now is one that takes place thousands of years prior to the events in Game of Thrones. Reported to be about the first battles with the white walkers. There were supposedly other ones proposed, but this one is reported to be the one with the most momentum to actually be made.

Yeah I heard that there is definitely one that is supposed to be 1000 years prior and heard another one is in the writing stage. Not sure how true the second part is.

That happy ending did not seem consistent with the tone of the rest of the show. Wanted the little guy to take over. Has there ever been a show that was consistently great from start to finish? Even The Sopranos and Breaking Bad seemed to falter near the finish. And Lost went off the rails around season 4.

Doubtful. Even Law & Order: SVU had a really bumpy start on Friday nights and now it will be the longest running scripted show with 21 seasons, excluding animation. I also think Everybody Loves Raymond was close to being canned after season one on Fridays. I still believe The Big Bang Theory would have been canned if not for the writer's strike during season one. Season two brought a vast step up in quality of writing and wallah, it ran 12 seasons.
