I think they return about 16 starters which is great unfortunately they return 16 starters from a 0-9 team. They have a very tough non conference schedule and could be in trouble if they start 0-2.

Agreed. Not sure how their soph team did last year but even if they were really good, counting on that to translate into 6 or more wins than last year on varsity in a tough Dukane conference with those non-conf games is drinking some serious kool-aid. They lost to a 1 - 4 (record at the time they played) LP team and a 2 - 6 Geneva team last year. They went 5 - 5 in 2017 and 0 - 9 in 2018. There is no momentum to show a jump of that magnitude.

I think a 4 - 5 season this year would be a success and something to bring hope in 2020.

Geneva is my sleeper pick to finish with a winning record (5 - 4). They finished last year with 3 straight wins when they had nothing to play for and they are just too good of a team historically to have another miserable season.

If Geneva starts 2-0 I can see them getting to 5 wins and the playoffs, they finished hot and have some talent at the lower levels so future is pointing up for them.

Honestly, considering last year's performance...how in the world does GBN jump ahead of WWS, SCN? I understand you are an optimistic fan be let's not lose touch with reality.

They where in every game except two BAT/SCN

Two td's called backed against SCE lost by 4
WN lost on last play of the game
WWS down 17-14 last min. Interception return TD 24-14
LP lost 33-32

I watched the SCE game in person and agree GBN played a tough and good game but you don't have a legitimate reason to blame the refs for the outcome. In all 4 cases you mention, good teams find ways to win close games not lose them.

This comes nowhere close to explaining why and 0 - 9 GBN team would have a realistic chance to leap frog WWS and SCN to finish second in the Dukane this year.

Last 3-years St Charles East Saints have been kicking butt.

21-6 regular season
11-2 at home
10-4 at away

Nuff said. Eat It! Stats don’t lie. But do they?

That's great and all...but how have the rest of the DuKane teams senior classes been doing? Your Saints first year in the the DuKane went, meh.

Both my kids have played on those teams over the last 3 years.

2016 = 9 - 0
2017 = 7 - 2
2018 = 5 - 4 (1st year DuKane)

It was a nice run and fun to be in the playoffs for 3 straight years but unfortunately, the trend is heading down not up. I will still be pulling for them to do well and hope they can pull off another winning season but that road has gotten harder, not easier. No more Larkin, Elgin, and Streamwood to count as 3 automatic wins.

I agree with you. In my example, the linemen were not the problem. I really like their OLB #8. Big kid and plays fast
I would disagree. Great High School player, but probably Ivy or Fcs. 5'11 and 4.9 forty. Need to be bigger and faster for power 5.

Didn't say where he would go at any point. All I said is that I really like the way he plays, which you agreed to when you said "great high school player." So in reality, you have agreed with me.
