The worst thing about our team

Those are definitely "meh" numbers against a grossly overmatched opponent. 219 yds passing isn't anything to crow about either against SC State. We've gotten all the "gimmes" we're going to get this season, even Vandy and Missouri are going to be games we will have to actually play decent to win. Whether the interceptions were on the receivers or Rattler, they were still interceptions and against a team with comparable talent will cost us. A loss to either Vandy or Missouri and we could easily be facing a 4-8 season unless Florida is as bad as they look so far.
UF has a running QB. He’ll kill us.

I've always had a tough time agreeing with this idea because of the circumstances around the uf game.

Agreed on the bowl, though.
No doubt that Florida was imploding at the time. If by chance we beat Kentucky and later beat Texas A&M, that will be a big indictment of Satterfield because it will indicate he needs extra time to prepare his group. [ Not predicting wins though ].

I don't think Florida has looked that bad. They did beat 12th ranked Utah and lost by only 5 to UT on the road. I suppose they did not look good against South Florida. Their only other game was a 10 point loss to #7 Kentucky. Maybe it's just me though.

With a "meh" defense that can't get off the field at times, offensive numbers will go down. Time of possession actually favored SC State.

Rattler was benched at OU for making too many poor decisions on the field. It seems to me that he has carried that over to SC. I agree that too many people bought into the hype. I hope he eventually lives up to that hype. Everybody here does. He needs better coaching to cut down on those bad decisions. BUT, Rattler has a proven ZERO as his QB coach, whom, to my knowledge has never developed a good QB in his career. That's not to say absolutely he has not. Just not aware that he has. But, again, I'm pulling for him. I just don't happen to be optimistic.

And by the way, I agree with what someone posted earlier on another thread. Why did we not use the exhibition game against Charlotte to work on our passing game, rather than running game? I tried to understand it but, just don't.

Maybe because in the Arkansas game we passed for 377 yards and only ran for 40. We clearly need to work on the running game more.

I really don’t like talking bad about people and I go out of my way not to and just keep my mouth shut but imo,the OC is the worst thing about our team. I have no confidence in that position. For me, it has taken the enthusiasm out of the season.

Our OL and DL haven't looked good this year. That doesn't fly in the SEC. I think we have some talent but these guys aren't dogs.

I still believe Rattler would be a good QB if he had a line that could pass block and not have someone in his face all the time. I don't understand why we can't get a decent oline?
Next year's class is filled with quality O-Line prospects. You are on point, the best QB,s in College Football have dependable O-Lines. Rattler was on his bicycle all game against Georgia and Arkansas.

Thought Rattler played well last night - interceptions were definitely on the receivers. Coaches are obviously very sensitive to pulling Rattler and giving Doty some meaningful game time and wait til mop up time to bring him in. A series for Doty in the first half the last 2 weeks would have been very productive in learning more about Doty and giving him some confidence experience wise.
i think they are trying to avoid a qb controversy. when Doty does play, he plays with his hands tied behind his back

Well, kind of. An SEC team should look at least physically dominant to the likes of Charlotte.

That is true. I think it was you who said it before, it only tells you something if you DON'T look dominant against a team like that.

We’re not interfering. We don’t do any one thing particularly well. We don’t have a dynamic playmaker. If you’re a bad team it helps if there’s something interesting about the team. Maybe you have a horrific defense but you’ve have a really good QB or something. So far, we’re just kind of blah.

we are 5 coaches in since Brad Scott.

Since Scott and few good years in between there have been two reoccurring statements around this FB program.

Wait till Next Year
We need to simplify the offense

The first is just us fans wanting and expecting more. Typical

simplifying the offense in the second year of an experienced OL should be the last statement to come out of this staffs mouth. Several years of HS, College, play calling, meetings and video review. These guys should be well versed In what is expected and how to execute. Now when your feet can’t move, can’t pull, open a hole or just plain ole push some *** around that’s a different story

I’m not sure understanding the offensive scheme is the issue at hand
