It might not turn out great, nobody knows, but to automatically assume we are gonna get worse as a program before he's even talked to the players or coached a game is ridiculous. He has a solid resume as an assistant. No head coaching experience, but I remember us hiring a coach like that not too long ago. I think his name was Dan Mullen.

History shows you're far more likely to fail by making the easy hire the fans want you to rather than by hiring the guy you really think is right, regardless of name recognition. Big-time hires usually don't work out like expected, and despite that, fans continue to lose their minds when it doesn't happen.
