Fresh off the turnip truck....

Not hardly.

Maybe this ******** is why I don't read this board after ANY loss.

Some of you people need to work your way through puberty.............

but if we stick to running the ball we win the game, and probably win by 10 points. Every coach does dumb things from time to time, and there is nothing wrong with stating the facts. I can like Mullen and say he goofed up the game tonight. I think when he watches the game film tomorrow he'll agree.

I thought we passed at times when we should have ran the ball.

We blew the opportunity to take control of the game after the onsides, and got jack out of that deal.

Just think that the coaching decisions are heavily outweighed by the dropped passes and almost ints....

if we made adjustments in our playcalling at all at any point during the game. Its not like the recievers suddenly started dropping passes late in the game or that the QBs suddenly became mistake prone passing late in the game. It was from the outset of the game. When something doesn't work at all during the first half, usually coaches will adjust their playcalling. However, we stubbornly stuck with the passing game. After we got the onside kick, we threw three straight times. All of them were awful passes or drops. The next series was the same thing. Not one damn running play. Not. One. Why?

Relf knows how to run the read option. He is not (& most likely never will be) an efficient drop back passer. Russell will be someday, but he is still very green. But, we hardly used the read option. More times than not, when we did use it, we picked up 5 to 7 yards. Then, inexplicably, we would totally abandon it.

Coaching decisions were huge in this game. Period.

These things can always go either way. Would I have run it after the onside kick? Maybe. But the bottom line is that the plays that were called were open. First play, 20 yards downfield, WR open. Second play, for first down, WR open. Third play, possible first down, WR open. All 3 throws were seriously off target. Maybe you need to realize the limitations of your QB, but the play-calls worked until the ball left Relf's hand.

I agree 100%. They'll just call you a sheep, tell you to go to Gene's Page, etc. etc. etc. They do it with Cohen too. I've come to the conclusion that there isn't much sports or sports-coaching experience on this board. Not that you have to have that to have an opinion, but damn, you'd think these guys would have at least SOME basis for the pretty strong words they use.

But, in the end, it's just a message board.
