As much as I dislike them I have to admit they put a surprisingly good organization (fund raising, PR etc) for a Mississippi school over the last several years. The question now how much of that energy and enthusiasm (especially fund raising) will cool down with Kiffin gone.

Next year when they take a step down it starts waning. Make no mistake, this move is about right now. He’s their best shot to host a playoff game and potentially compete and they don’t know if they’ll have this opportunity again.

I agree it’s their best option, but still not a good one. He’s not even a great coordinator and now he will run everything. They basically have now lost the OC and DC

They will keep it up for a couple of years outta spite. But, as the schedule gets tougher and the losses pile up, they will lose some of their enthusiasm.
