Newton, who had nothing to do with this guy Kenny Rogers, other than asking him what Starkville and the MSU program were like, decides to extort money from Mississippi State without the knowledge of the Newtons. The Newtons then decide to go elsewhere because of this extortion attempt even though they know nothing about this.<div>
</div><div>Methinks all the reasonable Auburn fans are staying the 17 off the message boards right now, therefore leaving the dumb17s running the show.</div>

Rogers, an MSU alum, was trying to lay the screws to his former team/school without the approval and knowledge of they morally upright Cecil Newton. He was just going to pocket the cash and not tell Cecil. He used Bond as his in, but that blew up in his face when Bond reported it to MSU. MSU did the right thing in calling the SEC about it, even on a former player. When Mullen called Cecil to tell him what was going on, Cecil determined that the mere thought of impropriety was unacceptable to him, so even though Cam wanted to attend State, the morally upright Cecil Newton would not, could not, allow that to happen. Enter Auburn, with both their briefcase and depth chart empty, and also with an innovative and exciting offensive coordinator, and Auburn became the new leader. No money was needed. By turning Rogers in, MSU not only cost themselves Newton, but also sent a message to future recruits who will now not consider MSU because of the way that Rogers was treated as a former player.

Yes, there are Auburn people who either believe that or keep saying it in hopes that it will come true.

how ESPN is out to get Auburn and keep them out of the BCS championship, as if ESPN, an organization w/ hundreds if not thousands of employees, has some vendetta against a particular university because....???

but Jack is getting on my nerves today with his homer opinion. It's exactly how you just laid it out. I wish Mike were on the show today. It would be very entertaining.
