I lived in South Carolina for a year. All the stereotypes they have about racism in Mississippi, are far more accurate about South Carolina. One thing I'll credit Miss. State fans about is that while we've criticized Coach Croom for his hard-headedness, lack of imagination, et. al., NONE OF IT IS RACIAL. If Croom (or any other black head coach) took the job at Clemson, they better win big, win consistently, and win NOW.

It was when I lived there in the mid-1980's. Maybe it's different now in Greenville, Charlotte, etc. But I still bet it's not healthy for some people to get lost in the sticks between Belton and Honea Path.
