They just interviewed UW's head coach on KJR in Seattle

(I listened on my iPhone)

In the interview, there was a lot of talk about looking ahead and playing UConn again. Of course, the host was talking up filling the arena with Husky fans. One thing that really stuck out at me was this, and it's paraphrased, and wasn't stated in a joking manner:

Host: What kind of a team would you feel would give the most problems for the Huskies?

Coach: A team with a lot of guards, around 6'2 - 6'3. Luckily, Mississippi State doesn't have that. They do have an excellent shot blocker in Varnado, though.

Might want to recheck that scouting report coach. We start 4 guards at 6'2 or above.

But it's totally fine by me if they keep thinking that. Let them show up on gameday expecting a bunch of 6'2" guards...

Surely they can't really be that dumb.

this game is looking more and more like an ***-kicking in our favor. This is the first time in a long time that I am not cautious about the outcome. I guess it's because we've already accomplished all our reasonable goals this season and everything else is just gravy. That and the fact that we're hot and kicking *** and taking names right now.

I agree in the fact that we are playing with house money. Anything we do now is above and beyond what was expected at the end of the regular season. That said, I go into this game with the same expectation I have for every Mississippi State athletic event...we'll get our asses kicked.

We took the underdog role in the SEC tourney and really played well as a team in response to that mind set in my opinion.

These guys have a tough task to tackle and need all the motivation they can get.

Maybe his stellar scouting skills will ease up a bit, otherwise, we don't have a shot...

Lets not forget that 6'8" forwards Romero Osby and Kodi Augustus can bring it out deep and shoot it on occasion, but try to keep that a secret from the ol coach.

yes, it would appear that they feel more "slighted" by having drawn us, in that they feel they were regarded as the lowest of the 4th seeds... more so than they are "worried" about playing us.

What gives me a little confidence is that all the callers seem to be talking about the little things they have to fix and the concerns they have with some poor play as of late, whereas we are peaking at the right time and just need to maintain if not even take it to another level.

because by all media accounts, they are getting to play a team that doesn't even deserve to be in the tournament. What more could you ask for than that.

although they look through pac-10 colored glasses, although they'd say the same about our stations probably.
