So the reports that BBV has a stress fracture are false? You can talk video and scouts mentioning him all you want, but if our coach signed someone he has never seen or met in person, I would be all over him. And the video I have seen of him was vs. extremely weak competition, to put it charitably. And did I mention all of his other offers to play basketball in the states? No, because that would be zero. But don't worry, I'm sure you latched on to someone that all the powerful basketball recruiting machines out there missed....
And that performance against Khalil Whitney? If I was 6' 10' 240 I would hope that I could dominate a player who is 6-6 190 soaking wet (if I recall watching that tape correctly, Khalil was forced to guard Kouma since his team had no big men-- and his team still won despite that "dominant" performance-- but correct me if I am wrong, this is going off total recall). But what I certainly know is that he was a 247-composite unranked surprising late add with only 3 other D-I offers, with Illinois being the best offer by far, and he played against generally lackluster competition in that private school league that he is in .He is a project, and if Illinois is smart, they will redshirt him, but I don't know if they can now given the Kane transfer.
And no, I did not say similar things about Giorgi B., who had a Minnesota offer, and played that for that little "prep team" as you call it, known by solid high school basketball observers as the school that was formerly St. Patrick's of Elizabeth a perennial state, and sometimes national, power that plays against nationally-ranked competition. A guy name Kyrie Irving went there, perhaps you've heard of him! Can you see how his resume contrasts with Kouma's and BBV's just a tad?
But enough about these players, Ayo and Kofi are the real beasts on your team, imo. If they have excellent seasons, BU should absolutely fired (but he won't be) if you don't go to the Dance...
Thanks for mocking our player and helping out here as always, though! I have a feeling that guys like Pete Nance, Miller Kopp and Robbie Beran who had 68 offers between them from the likes of Michigan, Purdue, OSU, Maryland, Wisky, Texas A&M, etc. are going to have something to say about this newfound Illini superiority complex once Ayo, and perhaps Kofi, are in the NBA...
