1. Jojo should have been the #2 back and getting pt all year...and prob last season too.

2. Our O-line is absolutely awful. They cannot pass block, and are the number 1 reason our offense sucks!

3. Barker and Towles are a wash at qb at this point. They both have different talents and deficiencies, and Barker will clearly be the better player in the long run, but right now, neither are where we need them to be.
This is compounded by the o-line issues previously mentioned.

4. Dawsons playcalling still sucked last night. We were just playing inferior talent that could not stop us, but those run plays up the middle did not work against better competition and they still wont.

Last nights game was fools gold, but all the problems that were there last week are still there. They were just disguised by playing a crappy opponent. Ul sucks too, but next week will be a matter of who sucks more.

I agree with most of your points. I'd like to be optimistic regarding next week's game against Lville, but I don't think we have it between the ears. I don't mean to throw all our players under the bus, but winning doesn't seem to be a priority for us as a team.

Re UK-UL, actually if both suck it's the team that sucks less that will win.

What was Dawson suppose to call? We only ran for 415 yards. Yes it was against an inferior team, but it was the only team we were playing last night and he called plays that was working.

Agree on JoJo and yes our Oline is average at best especially in pass blocking.

I think it's to early to tell on Barker vs Towles. This was Barkers first start and not in ideal conditions for throwing the football.

Yes agree, but I don't understand those who are on here who say see we can do this with against anybody because we did it against uncc

I certainly agree about Jo Jo. I have bitched about his lack of time all year. I don't know what's going with this OC.

Boom has no stamina & needs to be subbed for frequently. He's quickly out of gas.

Ultimatly, next week is a rivalry game. Neither team is a juggernaut. Talent- wise, we should win but our Cats are just not there mentally this last half of the season. I also worry that coaching could end up losing the game for us. Of course, anything can happen in a rivalry. Hopefully, we'll look more like the Uk that played early in the season. This is a must win for UK and especially Mark Stoops!

Chad Scott is the running backs coach and he typically is the one who rotates his backs. Even going back to last year after the So Carolina game JoJo didn't get a lot of carries after that game.

This weeks game is likely to be close,if it comes down to a play call or coaching decision we are at a disadvantage. On the other hand a broken clock is right twice a day (kind of a joke) Even with that being said I like our chances this year more than I did last year.Maybe Stoops and Pitrino have a fist fight at the 50 yard line before the game(I think we win that one)

Gosh Blue and Domino, did the team or coaches do anything you liked. I was there and thought we won, but maybe I was wrong. I know it wasn't against a great team, but I thought the defense played well and I saw a couple of good runs. I think the OL must have opened a few holes, and I believe Barker was only sacked twice, and then not for big losses. I don't remember any interceptions thrown by Barker.
I guarantee you that winning is a priority, and you are throwing our players under the bus.
Give the team a little credit. Try living your life with the "Glass half full". and I promise you, you will be a happier person.

Good observation. In the Vandy game he was caught from behind by a player that should not have caught him. Maybe there is a reason for it. I don't know.

And you'll be a lot happier if you stop trying to change other fans' opinions. Of course I'm happy we won. That's a given. But I wouldn't be doing my job as a poster on this site if I acted like I was pleased with our performance against a team barely out of the fcs whose d line routinely found their way in our backfield.

Twice on long runs
he was stopped just short of the goal line. It's hard to stomach the fact that if he had just a tiny bit more stamina on either of those runs we would have won the game.

One thing is for certain. At the end of every game people will complain about the offensive line and the play calling. Think about it, the offense scored 51 points and there are complaints about the play calling.

I've never seen boom caught from behind until these past two weeks. The same he's been grinding through with that monstrosity on his arm. I don't know if is that, or pain killers or what. It's not his conditioning though. It's got to be that injury.

I gotta wonder if some of you know anything about football at all? Of course we're happy we won, but anyone with the slightest bit of football knowledge knows that we would be slaughtered if we played the same against most SEC opponents...hence 3 blowouts, and a devastating loss to a crappy Vandy team over the last 4 games. Why should I praise an O-line for allowing pressure on Barker all night against what is barely even a division 1 team? They weren't even blitzing, just getting pressure with the front four???? ohhh, but they blew a couple running lanes open late after wearing down a subpar team! Maybe we should give out losing trophies too, and maybe all teams should go bowling so it's fair for everyone...and we can all hold hands and sing kumbaya, and then flow into my old ky home. Bahh humbug. I want the cats to be great as much as anyone, but last night showed me nothing. It's better than a loss, for sure, and gives me a faint hope we can pull it together for next week, but nothing about routing Charleston tells me we are SEC calibre. It's funny, I wonder if you glass half full people ever get tired of taking a drink, only to realize the cup is empty!

The Big Diff is Barker is just a redshirt freshman and he is where Towles is at as a JR. Barker ceiling is way bigger then Towles.

Granted, I did not watch the game, but if Charlotte put pressure on the QB the entire game, like several posters are claiming, then we may need a new OL coach. I mean how can the kids playing at Kentucky be such poor athletes? We are 11 games into the season without significant injuries and they are struggling to block a 2-8 team like Charlotte? Are the OL players that CMS is signing legitimate SEC players or not? Yes, I realize they are young but how can they struggle with pass protection against an iinferior opponent at this stage in the season?

Many posters have been questioning the player development component for some time. What does this performance tell us? Every DE that lined up against this UK team has looked all-conference, be it SEC, OVC, whatever. After 11 games and 5 months of practice, why isn't the offensive line playing any better? Why is this OL one of the worst ever?

Sorry. But when you run for 400 yards and have nearly 3 100 yard rushers; you cant call out the OL. They struggle at times with pass protection, but are much better at run blocking.

Sorry if you misunderstood, I was talking about pass protection, not only in this game, but throughout the season. There have been a lot of plays where the RB was forced to bounce the play in another direction in order to gain positive yards. The run blocking has been less than stellar at times. Boom has created his own running lanes many times. If running the ball against Charlotte impressed you, then so be it.
