Errors and Striking out kill a team's chances to win. At least put the ball in play. We had two errors and 16 strikeouts.. You will never win a game striking out 60% of the time. We got to have a 180 degree turnaround Thursday.

..what I am seeing but is never mentioned here is the ****** attitude of this baseball team.
They go through the motions in a convincing manner, & their coach will dutifully run out on the field to argue a questionable call.
But at the plate & in the field they all seem too bored to hustle & act like theyre entitled to victory because they look pretty in their uniforms.

I would disagree with the bored/entitled view and make the argument that playing under Cohen has them pressing. Cohen obviously emphasizes walks, which is why we take so many 17ing 3rd strikes... just one example.
All the micromanaging of the game that Cohen does makes them stress and focus on all the little things, and not go out there and just play. Ive been saying for weeks we are too bad of a hitting team to be giving away outs. In SEC only games we are LAST in stolen bases, but FIRST in caught stealing. If 4-16 on steal attempts doesn't cause any change in philosophy then I don't see what can.
We 17 up sac bunt attempts and get thrown out 75% of the time we steal. Whether this is a result of Cohen pressing, or our players sucking, it doesn't matter.

The only constant is stubborn coaching for repeatedly doing the same **** offensively. Stop giving away outs, let them hit and maybe we'll be lucky to have a couple big innings per game. The status quo will not get it done. Not on Saturdays and Sundays

Granted we didn't have very many baserunners, but when we did, we didn't make any mistakes. And we should have thrown a guy out at home- but our catcher dropped the ball.

I was mainly looking at the season as a whole, not the game tonight. the 16 attempts is SEC only games
I actually don't mind the hit-and-runs, if we use them at the correct times, not in situations that cause triple-plays for instance. It's mostly the bunting that has been eating at me this season because A. its giving away an out and B. We must have had 10 sac attempts that we've missed or popped out this season, not moving the runner. There was a 3 game stretrch earlier where I believe our 2nd inning in each game was wasted on failed sac bunt attempts, using Rea and Renfroe as two of the bunters if my memory is right. These guys cant be bunting, especially early in games.
A big factor in tonight's game though was the fact that we did not get a leadoff hitter on base until the 9th inning. Teams score over half of the time that the leadoff runner reaches base. We only had 3 cases where even the second hitter in the inning reached. Starting 5 innings out with consecutive outs will not get it done.

if in SEC games we are getting thrown out on 75% of all straight steal attempts then we HAVE to scrap that strategy because that is horrible. You really need to be successful about 2/3rds of the time to be something worthwhile doing. So what we have now is a team that has little to no extra base hitting ability coupled with continually giving away outs on the basepaths. That is a BAD recipe.
