We're headed down to Baton Rouge Friday evening for the game. Staying at the Holiday Inn on College Dr at I-10.

Where is the team staying?

Any tips on where to park for the game?

Also looking for suggestions of things to do and unique places to eat?

I'll have the whole family with me which includes three girls age 5, 6 and 9.

Just saying that you went and came back alive is a feat in and of itself. It's kind of like going crabbing in Alaska. Well, I guess you can get crabs at LSU as well, but I don't think anyone is going to pay you for your "catch" unless they're for medical research.

Prepared to be flipped off a lot now that we're respectable and the fact that it's a night game.

Eat at the Chimes. The one at the north gates will be harder to get to, so go to the Chimes East on Coursey - this is for Friday night

Parking is a ***** so that you can get back to your hotel. Would say try to park somewhere around the lakes. Just make sure your facing the interstate

I usually park somewhere near Stanford Park on Stanford Ave. It's a hike and a half, but I've never had trouble getting out to the interstate quickly at the end of the game from there.

Handy Google Map

Other than our team's typical poor performance down there, I've always had a good time at LSU. I've been to three of our games there, one close and two not. I've also been to an Ole Miss game there. The fans are vocal, but it's always been good natured.

I think a lot of it is where you go. The first time I went when I was in the band and we went through the heart of their tailgating area. It was definately NOT good natured. People mooning you, little kids flipping you off, people throwing crap at the bus, the typical you've heard it before LSU experience.

The second time I went with vh and it not nearly as bad as my first experience. We parked by the lake, and there were a lot of State fans there, and it wasn't too bad at all.

So, my advice is to be thick skinned, be laid back, don't get into a fight, and park by the lake. And don't join the band.

What is the parking like south of the stadium around the intersection of 42 and 30? The LSU site shows that area as free parking. Anyone ever been there before?
