A) Mirando was let go because of actual personal issues. Timing looks bad- but it is what it is.

B) Mullen would have replaced Mirando before Fall practice started had this supposed recruiting issue been the cause. No way you let the guy start the season and then suddenly replace him. We've known what has been going on for 3 months.

C) If you subscribe to the theory that the NCAA just found something and this is why Mirando was suddenly let go- then we know about it and that player would be suspended and unable to practice, Immediate action would be taken by our athletic administration. We currently have no players suspended. That tells me all I need to know.

Carry on the rest of your day being harassed by Bears speaking of impending doom

I feel confident that you're right.

I just refuse to believe that an athletic department that has done everything so right recently would be as stupid as the worst case of this scenario would make them. I will be glad when the true facts come to light, and all this damn speculation stops.

C) Maybe the player's dad was shopping him around to Auburn but the player didn't know about it. It's OK to let him practice and play as long as the kid didn't know.

Just a theory from a non-insider.

It is technically possible that we've known this for months (fact) and just recently found out that Mirando knew more than he was letting on (theory). Maybe Mirando was denying previous knowledge of the issue until some evidence came out recently showing he knew(theory).

There is no way in hell Mirando's release was NOT related to this issue. I'm pretty sure Redmond is the only player Mirando has landed in the last two years. (last year and the current recruiting class, I have no idea about the year before). I'm not saying Mirando was the bagman, hell he was probably just an accessory after the fact, but you can't tell me he's not involved in this in any way and that his resignation wasn't directly related to this issue. I guess you can tell me that but I won't believe it until the NCAA says "Mirando was not involved"

EXACTLY!! That's why it is so important in this country that people are guilty until proven innocent! Wait . . . **

Maybe Slive will help us find a loophole!!

I agree. Our staff doesn't seem overly concerned, so neither am I. I say stop guessing and being so damn paronoid. The NCAA is not out to get us. Now if AU can get in trouble out of it GREAT!

I actually agree with you that we shouldn't jump to...

I'm just not so quick to throw our guys under the bus before all the facts come out.

conclusions here. And I'm not too concerned about this whole mess anyway. (Coach's post seems pretty spot on to me.) I'm just saying that, in principle, "innocent until proven guilty" doesn't apply to a message board that's supposed to be about saying what you think.

Strictly my own opinion but I think Mirando does have a "personal issue" that may have led to diarrhea of the mouth ABOUT this NCAA issue and other things going on within the program that Mullen will not tolerate. THAT is why I think he was "asked" to resign. As I said that's just my opinion on the topic putting 2 and 2 together from various things I've read and heard. In TSUN terms he basically moved outside the circle of trust.

34 speaks the truth on this. Mirando would have likely

survived the NCAA issue because for all practical purposes it's over, however, he was warned repeatedly to stop doing
what got him fired and he couldn't give it up. Stuff is like crack**

If the MSU AD is truely attempting to metigate the circumstances envolving a mirando pay for play scam then What's the theory on said player still participating in practices?

It takes two to make a thing go right.

I think if he was fired because of an NCAA violation being committed, the official statement would have been phrased that way. To release an official statement saying he left because of personal reasons, when he was really fired or asked to resign, sounds like some kind of cover-up. I don't think the University or Athletic Department would allow that, or want that kind of impression out there.

Good points Coach.

This whole thing probably would've never happened if that dang girl hadn't tempted Coach Mirando. Everything was fine til she came along.

Now if teh message boards would quit giving ESPN their leads, we'd be in the clear. Dang.

I think this is probably the case. Seems to me he the most logical personal issue is the Cotton District.
