As part of my entrance exam packet to The Cooper Union, they included a flexi-record of a Philip Glass piece to where I needed to draw a 2 dimensional representation of the ‘frozen music’ and the container to which the music was played within.Remember getting these things in magazines and other places? Flexi-discs? Little records that were all wobbly but actually played music on a record player.
Needless to say, I ‘chose’ to attend the University of Kentucky for undergraduate studies.

Those were awesome. It looked like you could just steal a whole bunch of drinks, but you were more likely to lose your damn hand trying.

All this nostalgia just reminds me that I never fulfilled my obligation with Columbia House. Sent in my dime, got my 10 records and never bought any more. I feel so bad that I might have been the one that finally put them out of business.
