Did anyone see or hear Pat Knight's recent post game interview?

Thought several things he said are applicable to our team:

"That's the problem with society. That's why we have problems out there. Because people don't make kids accountable."

"These kids are stealing money by being on scholarship with their approach to things."

"We have a bunch of tin men out there right now. They got no heart."

"When I played, if you acted like the way some of these guys did, you got shoved in a locker with a forearm against your neck."

"You act this way in the real world, you're gonna be homeless without a job."

Because no matter how much you think Stansbury is floundering, he's not even close to as bad of a coach as Pat Knight.

Sounds like his daddy's temper rubbed off him but the basketball knowledge stayed put.

I just like his honesty versus the "we are always underdogs on the road," and "we can't be expected to hold a double digit lead on the road".

because publicly shaming your players in a room full of reporters is an excellent motivational tactic.

I mean, it is completely true that a coach not holding kids accountable on a basketball court is what is dragging society down. Gas prices, hunger, and forclosures typically rise when lack of hustle is allowed. And it's also true that a good forearm to the neck is all you need to start playing better. It's also staggering the number of former NCAA basketball players that are living on Skid Row. I also agree that they are guilty of stealing their one year scholarship that can be pulled at the end of the season if the coach sees fit.

The only thing remotely acceptable was the no heart comment, but even that's better left to the locker room. It actually sounds to me like he has no idea what motivates his players and he refuses to try anything besides being a complete dick.

You will have very disciplined untalented players.

He drove the Texas Tech program into the ground because he refused to play the AAU game. Basically he was a white Rod Barnes without the religion.

"beers for everyone, on me!"

"first, i'd like to thank RSS for staying in school, we couldn't have won this national championship without him"

"We didn't play very well tonight. I need to do a better job coaching these guys. I will improve on this."

Rick never takes the blame for losses, Mullen does.

You're right, that's Rick's excuse. I guess you can't get better on in game decision making if you have sucked for this long.

Granted, the tenure at Tech was horrible. But Lamar, traditionally a decent program in their league, hasn't been over .500 in conference play in three years. In Knight's first year they are in the top four with a chance to be second.

Saying, "It's my fault," is cool and all, but unless there is a cost involved it means less than ****. At least **** is honestly ****.

I was trying to pay attention to who they had at the free throw line, but my kids kept bugging me for some money to go get popcorn and a coke.
