Think about this before jumping on the Tubbs bandwagon...

In 10 years at Auburn, Tommy Tubberville lost 4 or more games SEVEN times. That's with Auburn talent, he lost 4 or more games SEVEN times. He had 3 great seasons and that's it...the rest is completely mediocre. We would be a middle of the road SEC west school at best with Tubbs, nothing more.

Why would we be any better than OM was when they had him?

And in those 7 years, could you tell me how many games Mississippi State lost? Hes an upgrade. Hes an SEC Championship winner, and a regular bowl participant, and the owner of an undefeated season. Hes an immediate upgrade, and he will be the guy that helps keep all of our recruits.

MSU managed to lose 8 or more games 4 times in 5 seasons. I'll take it! That's an incredibly poor statistic you just pulled out. Assuming he went to bowl games all those years, which he pretty much did, he could've gone 9-4 and have met your criteria.

and I think before this year Saban had lost at least 3 games except for his national championship year so what's your point?

Doubt we will find someone that will please us all but he will split the fan base right down the middle.

Tubbs has proven that he can win and also knows the state of Mississippi and Alabama well, which will help to smooth any bumpy roads in recruiting. He may come here for about 4 years and then jump for another job, but he will likely leave the program in better shape than he found it.

On a plus side, Tubberville will get rid of coordinators if they are underperforming

and you are a total moron!

Tuberville is a major upgrade over the last clown we had coaching this team.

7 wins a year at Mississippi State is something that I would take any day of the week.

People who say we can do better are living in a dream world!

That is a terrible reason to not want him.... I mean come on, the fact that he has lost "4 games 7 times"..... i would take that in a HEARTBEAT!!!!! he is better than what we have, what we have, and most of the ones we might get... I say grab him whiles he's still available.

My point is that he did that with Auburn's talent level, which we will never have at MSU on a consistent basis. If you are pro- Tubbs, then why not Phil Phulmer? He HAS won a National Title, a couple SEC championships, went to the title game last year, finished same as Tubbs this year. So, why not Phil Phulmer?

Again, why would we be better with Tubbs than OM was with him? I agree middl of the pack would be an upgrade, but we should strive for more. I hope Greg Byrne does.

The guy is a proven coach and can win. Houston Nutt had a similar road at Arkansas. I think it will take a Tubby type of hire for State to compete in recruiting with Ole Miss now that Houston Nutt (a big name coach) is inside the state lines. I heard on ESPN however that Tubby has in his contract that he can't go to another SEC west school if he resigns. Well he resigned (under pressure). If that loophole can be figured out, State better pony up and get a solid coach like Tubby.

Agree 100%. It's amazing how a coaching search will make your fanbase go insane. Before this season, most people would have put Tubberville in the Top 10 of all coaches in college football. Do whatever we have to do to get him.

He knows the SEC. He knows the challenges that MSU faces. He know the area for recruiting. He is one of the best gameday decision makers in the country. He is open to try new schemes and coaches. His teams are almost always good on special teams. He is a proven winner. This would be an unbelivable hire for MSU.
