As for season we at worst are 10-2 which is great. Also great that the RebelBearSharks are out of the playoff/west picture now. Not great that there is still a small possibility they could play spoiler.
How happy would everyone be if we both finish 10-2 with them beating us in Egg Bowl?

Preseason if you told me 10-2 would be our record, I would be ecstatic.
Now knowing that we are 8-0, and one win away in Tuscaloosa from sealing the SEC West crown, I would be pretty upset finishing 10-2 and not playing in Atlanta on December 6th. I will be rooting for LSU to beat Alabama this Saturday and give our team a little more breathing room.

I see no reason why anybody should get upset over 10-2. We'd have ended up losing to two good teams on the road. We'd have a chance at an 11 win season and we have NEVER done that.

As the 24 would say, awesome.
I've been a state fan since the 60's, and I've never enjoyed a season any more than this one. Each win we get from here on out only adds to an amazing year.

The Playoff Committee will seed all 6 of the playoff bowl games: Sugar and Rose are the semifinals this year, but they will also set the matchups for The Fiesta, Orange, Peach and Cotton bowls. But, if we have 2 losses, and those losses are to Bama and UMiss, we may have a hard time getting in one of those bowls. If UMiss is also 10-2, then they might get picked ahead of us. They aren't just going to take the top 12 teams, because conference champions are guaranteed some of the slots. Remains to be seen how everything will shake out.

We are guaranteed nothing. We have to take it. UT Martin, Bama, Vandy, and Ole Miss are all looking to be spoilers. Our players need to get loose and play like the bad asses they are and take it.
That's exactly right. At this point, we're pretty much guaranteed a Citrus berth, but that's it. There are 12 Big 6 slots, and 2 of them are guaranteed to teams that will almost certainly be ranked outside the top 12, namely Marshall and an ACC-team-not-named-FSU. We have to finish in the top 10 to get a Big 6 slot, and if we get blown out in either Oxford or Tuscaloosa, we might be outside that mark.
Note that this doesn't even begin to address what happens if the Michigan St-Ohio St winner loses in the Big 10 title game.

Do you really feel you had to say that? I mean, of course, we have to play and not be the exact OPPOSITE of everything we have been this year. However, we can say that a loss to either UTM or Vandy would be beyond the real of most possibilities at this point.
They're not out of either. They still have a relatively realistic shot at winning the west and a 10-2 SEC team can still make the playoffs. It depends on them getting into a 3-way tie with us and Alabama. So yes, I may be pretty pissed if we both finished 10-2 because that could play in their favor.
ESPN's FPI overrates OM as the #3 team in the country and still only gives them a 6% chance to win the West. They're a long shot.
Being a long shot vs being out of the west contention are two completely different points. If LSU beats Bama then they are still very much alive.
With what is at stake here going 10-2, I will be disappointed.

On the ESPN scroll it mentions our next opponent. Beside the name Mississippi State it has a 1. It took several seconds for it to sink in the meaning. I had no clue what that number meant.
