Huggins specialty is taking that one guy away, in this case Buddy. WVU has 4 hot three point shooters. And several guys capable of making good passes from the top of the key.

I could be wrong but WVU sure seems like a nightmare matchup for Syracuse

Defensively this team is unlike other Huggs teams, so relying on that to take away their best player is unlikely. As locust has said the 2-3 has given us trouble in the past, but we've also rarely had more than 2 shooters on the floor at any given time in the past as well. I see 'Cuse trying to stop Culver to start thus daring us to consistently find the open shooter AND knock the shot down.

We never did. Cuse was always a match up problem.

Thing is, this team is unlike any we’ve seen under Huggins.

I believe Boeheim knows it.

SU game plan will be to frustrate Culver into forcing poor shots and fouling him. Here's hoping our 3's are falling because they will have nothing to stop us then.

Attack the zone will open up the 3 point line and the mid range jumpers from the high post.

Yep Pitt has always played Cuse relatively well by bringing a big up to foul line and elbow for the high low. Opens up the three as the 2/3 collapses inside. The PG is huge getting the ball inside the top two guys in the zone. Dixon did really well against Cuse and even Capel took two game from Cuse going high low. Huggy should look at Pitt/Cuse film and call it a day. If WVU dribbles the ball around or passes the ball around for 15-20 seconds they’re screwed. You can’t get stuck outside in the back 6 seconds of the shot clock forcing up 15-20 footers.

The center of the zone is soft and often it is hard for teams to get good rebounding position out of it. We may get some 2nd shots today. They rely on athleticism and length to rebound. Their offense will certainly be more used vs our man than our offense vs their zone. We just don’t see zones that much. Still, teams have beaten them this year so it should be an interesting contrast of styles. I hope we can turn them over and run on em.
