Tough to feel sorry for a guy who brings that **** on himself. Every single school he coached at had heavy NCAA sanctions when he left. OU (as an assistant), Pitt, A&M, and State.

Yeah. Totally fabricated.

didn't do... what he did do is step on the powers to be and piss them off by winning....

nobody was supposed to come to Penn and piss off the beloved jo pa and the nittany lions....jackie did
nobody was supposed to come to texas and piss off the beloved long horns.....jackie did
nobody was supposed to come to starkvegas and piss of the beloved elite ole missers... jackie did....and what were the things we actually got caught doing?....pocket change dude...

what he did was rock the boat that those with the money didn't appreciate... he just did what the others had been doing and it pissed them off.... all they did was make a few calls, sling a few dollars around in Indy and the rest is history

get over your illusion that he was doing things that were not being done in your own house

the only thing Sherrill was guilty of, was punking schools like State Penn, Texass, and the Neverland Ranch. I particularily loved the way he turned the Oxford Michael Jackson-wannabes into whiny little Nicholls State-like bitches after we punked you 7 of the first 11 years we played. Turned you into your what your mascot really is....A BUNCH OF 17in LOSERS!

OU? Really? If you are going to come over here and talk **** about the coach with the most wins ever at MSU then at least get your facts straight.

People like you are the exact reason he is going to court. You are a perfect example of someone being blinded by the fact that these faggots from the NCAA tarnished his image. It's just a matter of time before Nutt gets nailed.

Edited to say: Please take CB9's advice and end your sorry life.

Ole Miss better be worried that Jackie doesn't tell all the **** he knows-and you know he knows some ****- on everybody in the SEC.

The man didn't even have a winning record while at state. So what does it really matter? He apparently wasn't cheating good enough.

check Sherrill's record at MSU at the end of the 2000 season BEFORE the NCAA crap became a 3 year witch hunt. His record was WAY over .500. That whole process was nothing but a way for people who wanted MSU back as an SEC doormat (with Khayat and the Ole Miss powerbrokers at the head of the list) to get MSU back as an SEC doormat and to their credit they succeeded. Pretty pathetic that after 3 years of investigations all they could come up with was the ticky tack stuff we got put on probation for. I personally hope Jackie stings them for as much cash as possible.

I dont recall Jackie ever being at OU but I could be wrong. I also know for a fact that Pitt did not go under any NCAA violations under Jackie Sherrrill.

Jackie was brash liked to call out Texas and whipped their *** many times. That and the eventual mudslinging of the old SWC gave him a reputation that was slightly justified but I would guarantee that Jackie did nothing worse than Special Ed did at Ole Miss other than winning...

When you have been proven to cheat as much as him, I just cant fathom someone believing anything he has to say.

if he is a such liar, cheater, etc that you claim, please explain to me why every sporting news article about our probation states this?

Sherrill was never personally found guilty of any NCAA rules violations at either Mississippi State or Texas A&M.
Nice try.

...recruiting is where the NCAA stuff hurt first and the most, and thus the reason we ever went to AZ Western in the first place.

to have been hurt in recruiting enough to cause us to go to AZ Western, that would mean our recruiting classes of 99 and 2000 were affected by the NCAA. That's not the case.

No wonder other fans don't like him as he spent most of his time kicking their butts. I wish him well with his lawsuit.

and you know as well as I do that "directly linked" doesn't mean ****. His programs went on probation, that's all that matters. I mean OJ wasn't directly linked to Nicole's murder, but we all know he did it.

Did he even have an overall winning record?

And the "two players got free rooms at the Ramada" line. Why did you leave off that it was for 11 days? You make it sound like it was a year or at least a sememster worth of free lodging. You aren't trying to trump-up these pathetic charges to make a case, are you?

I'm not going to get into the **** slinging storm. Jackie was good for MSU. However, I don't think anyone at OM is going to be worried. Khayat is on the verge of retirement. Brewer, Cut, and Tubbs are gone. Boone will follow Khayat out.

What are they going to do, put us on probation for something Jackie said happened a decade ago?

Will Jackie refuse to testify? What if he is asked about some of his own dealings?

...They used to rent rooms to construction crews and such for $250/month. Someone on campus back then told me that Wright and Kelly even produced receipts but the NCAA didn't buy it.

I think they produced receipts for everything except the week and a half in question. So naturally, the NCAA nailed us on that.

That's one big difference. Very few, if any, Ole Miss fans will claim Brewer got a raw deal. He was cheating his butt off, and most of us will admit it. You'll be hard pressed to find any MSU fans that will admit that Sherrill was anything but squeaky clean.

Also, Sherrill's career record was 75-75-2, including a forfeit win over Bama in 1993, so technically his on field record was 74-76-2 at MSU. And I really don't think you can disregard his final years when talking about his career. We had an NCAA cloud over our heads at the end of the Brewer era, and he still managed to win some games in those final years before being fired for getting us put on a crippling probation.
