I recently threw every pair of socks I owned away
(Aside from a few pairs of non-black dress socks) I then bought all new stuff that is identical. As in I have one brand of ankle socks, one kind of tube socks, and one kind of black socks, so they all match with no effort. White socks get one drawer, colored ones the other, because my socks are racist. This honestly is one of the best things I've ever done.
Highly recommended.

I have one big drawer for my socks and undies and it was a mess. So just a couple weeks ago, I put a shoe box in the middle dividing the drawer into 3 sections: Athletic socks, dress socks, and undies. It's so beautiful.
TL; DR: Trifurcating my sock drawer has changed my life.

Damn, that sounds like what I need to do. Just get rid of them all. I bet I have sixty pairs of socks and I only wear ten or twelve. A sock drawer overhaul is in my near future. However, I can't condone the sock segregation. Typical bear ********.
It's very liberating. I don't have to pair them but can reach in a drawer and know with full confidence that any two short socks I pull out will be a perfect match. It's like knowing that every cheese stick will be nice and gooey and full of cheese, not hollow and empty, like Mutt's soul.

Did almost the same thing about a year ago. Brown, black, white and then ankle. One brand for the dress socks. One brand of the white and one for the ankle. Life is so much better. I probably threw away 30 pairs.
I also threw away all of my undershirts and bought new ones. I did that again almost exactly a year later. So worth it.
