This game confirmed a couple things about our program to me...

  1. I don't really trust Mullen late in games
  2. Dak is pretty good, but not great
  3. Until we get more talent OL in the program, we will struggle against upper echelon Ds

We simply are not ready for prime time. Closer, but not there.

Item #1 reminds me of Stans. Puts together a pretty good squad every year. Gets a few key recruits, but never reels in the big fish. Makes a lot of boneheaded in-game decisions.

Of course, if Dan ever lets cancers on the team develop like Stans did, I'll be off the Mullen wagon. So far he's been good in that regard, but it wasn't until over a decade of Stans that things went off the rails.

These chances don't come very often. I'll remember this year as a year we blew the best chance we've ever had. All the other stuff (#1, "Heisman," etc.) is worthless. Just another reminder of blown chances.

The "it's still a great season crowd" is the "we're just poor ole Sippi State crowd." We'll always be that until we come through when it matters most.

Dan puts too much on Dak, I love Dan and I love

Dak but you have to distribute the ball
Better. As I said earlier our offensive
Game plan was too conservative but we still could have won the game if we just played safety and tackled.

Why continue to keep running up the middle when it's not working against the #1 rushing defense in the SEC? Dan could have used some imagination in play calling today! And what about his poor game management? That has been my biggest complaint about him for several seasons. He showed absolutely no emotion during the game. Our seniors deserved better from him.

#1 is the point that really gets me. The play calling at the end of this game and Bama game was really puzzling. When you're down two scores with 5 to 6 minutes to go, you really can't have any wasted ticks of the clock.

Both games we ran the ball and let tons of time run off that put us in difficult positions. Not to mention, we really weren't having much success running anyway. Mullen has to change his approach to the hurry-up.

I'm pissed just like everyone else. Lost a once in a lifetime opportunity, but it's been a fun ride. Still a Dawg. #hailstate

...or they just have the ability to appreciate what was accomplished and have a healthy perspective on the season.

Well over 100 fbs teams would love to have had our season so far.
Perspective and appreciation.

Not even close. Over half the teams in the SEC would have enjoyed our season, with 5 weeks at #1. That **** doesn't happen all the time.

Sure we "blew it" I guess but it's still an amazing season. If you expect years like this or better every season I suggest you find another team or get on anti-depressants.

Winning 10 games is not a 20 year feat at MSU. If we have anyone at all at QB in 2010, it would be the 2nd time in 4 years.
