This game is just a waste of time for us at this point.

Losing out on those 10,000 viewers still watching in Mississippi
I stopped watching before halftime. There were only two local ads that were shown over and over for a Toyota dealership and a sign company. I probably lasted longer than any other viewer in Alabama.

Yall refuse to be happy about anything. Don’t worry in about 6 months we’ll be sitting in Dudy Noble, eating cold hot dogs, feeding the opposing team and hoping they’ll say something nice about us on social media so we can all have a circle jerk and feel good about ourselves

Winning games is fun.
Having teams on the schedule that you know will give you a few Ws is fun.

The score of those games being 35 to 14 is more fun from a watching perspective.
I get what youre saying but if this game had been a 35-14 type of affair I'd be having much less fun.

I always hated having games like this on my season tickets. I go to games to be entertained not to watch a ritual killing. I would rather play a mid level FBS team from a non big 3 conference than to play a team you know you are going to destroy. It is no benefit to the team either. They get more of a test at practice than playing a FCS team. Another reason I prefer real games is viewership. At the end of each season ESPN and the folks that make decisions review the number of people watching teams on TV. I'm sure we got a huge boost from this game! ****

I'm sure playing UAB instead would have really moved the needle

I always hated games against less competition. Maybe you can do this on game one or if we got blown out by ASU.

Especially past games against Maine, LA Tech, Troy, Memphis, USM, Toledo, Louisville. You get the idea.............

Some of those teams don't qualify for less competition in that they are pretty good. That's the reason it is tough for us to schedule other good P5 schools because playing us is generally a no win situation for an Ohio State, Notre Dame, Clemson etc. They gain nothing by winning but can get hurt badly if we win which is a possibility.

I looked up the MSU baseball schedule for 1982 and there were several teams that we shouldn't have played according to BB's argument:

Birmingham-Southern - 2 times
Livingston - 2 times
William Carey 2 times
Mississippi College
Jackson State - 2 times
Delta State
West Florida - 2 times

Didn't niu beat notre dame or some one like that a few years back?
I mean let's not forget we got boat raced by Toledo last year.
Nothing is given. Play your opponent each we the best you can. If it's a blow out in our favorite that's great it's better than the alternative. Again see Toledo last year.

I have a 3 year old and a game like this was a perfect one to bring her to. Low stress game, cheaper than usual tickets, didn’t feel bad about leaving early, and a good HBCU band to boot. She had an awesome time and from that standpoint I’m grateful for games like this.

If I took her to ASU last week or Tennessee in two weeks she’d be miserable and I wouldn’t enjoy it either because of that.
