We were well rested, Caleb came back.
The players needed this one for momentum and confidence, it was vital.

You can argue the game wasn’t important to the NCAA and remaining games are, but for the players brains….this game was huge

High level sports is 100% about momentum and confidence.

I think we may look back and put it in the must win category. This game was played at a pace conducive to us winning but Michigan was just the much better team on both ends. Everyone thinks the Minnesota game is a lock. They will be better at home with their injured players back. How anyone can be confident given our play since the MSU game is a mystery to me.

Missing all those free throws gave Michigan life. The ridiculous turnovers closed the deal

Pike has to know when your players start out fast and come out of the blocks hot, you don’t get tired.
You never get tired on a 10-0 run
Pike should have ran with momentum for as long as he could.
There was no reason for subbing 3 players at that point

Absolutely correct. Run the damn score up as much as possible when you have a hot start before you bring in the subs.

the team played over their heads earlier in the season. then we lost a really good player. we are now what we are. losers of 3 of the last 4 including 2 bad losses on home court. bench is not good. team is without a star.

I 100% agree with you. But Pike has done this with his substitution patterns forever. It’s in his DNA.

Zap — Rangers look like crap too, it’s a sad time. We need some positive juju.

Yikes. The question is, would that be enough to get in.
Bad question biazza, I want to get in also.
If for no other reason it’s good for the resume.
But where are we going?
In order to do damage in the post season the team needs to be getting better as the season goes on, not worse

Yes, and also why put three cold players on the floor at once?

if Pike was a baseball manager he'd pull the starting pitcher throwing a no-hitter cause his card said "pull him at 65 pitches"

Let’s just split the next two and beat northwestern although that will be very tough the way they are playing.

I actually think this ends the season pretty much. Team is dead.
Put a fork in the season. Team is in total disarray and Pike looks clueless on the bench.
One and done in the Tournament. Yes both Tournaments

"Caleb came back" Yes he did not start, we had a nice start but with him in, we went 4 to 14. He sat after the half time break we got within
3 points. he came in and we got blown out. He was not ready.

We’re going nowhere, but you still want to hear your name called. I’d rather lose in the tourney than at home by 30 in the first round of the NIT

Two straight abysmal performances at the RAC near the end of the season .In both games Rutgers had a early spurt which quickly disappeared and soon after turned into a prolonged scoring drought where Nebraska and Michigan took control of the games. In this game the really bad foul shooting in the first half was a signal as to what was going to happen in the second half. The ball handling and passing led to far too many turnovers. The shooting by the team was similar to the horrendous performance against Seton Hall when Rutgers scored less than 50 points. There wasn't one player who would get a positive rating based on their performance.I mentioned in another thread that Rutgers had reached a crossroads and that they chose the wrong direction .The fans tried to encourage the team but the woeful offense kept shooting bricks. The over achieving team is now facing reality that the NCAA bid might be slowly fading away with only three games remaining.
