A&M was 5-0 and riding high when they came to Starkville. If anybody took advantage of a beat up A&M team, it was Alabama, getting them after us and Ole Miss had crushed them.

It's obvious a name thing. Two thoughts here - (1) he mentions our 2012 season where we were undefeated and ranked - and we lost to Alabama. He calls that a trend. That's not a trend by any stretch of the word. (2) He mentions our season last year where we didn't become bowl eligible until the last game of the season. Big flipping deal. In 2007, Alabama lost 6 games and was barely bowl eligible. In 2008, the went undefeated with a mediocre schedule and climbed to the rank of number one.

Alabama has the name; we don't. This guy just lost any slimmer of chance he ever had to making it on the committee (or even being considered a credible writer).

People bringing up our close call against Arkansas is pissing me off

because they completely fail to mention that Arkansas physically whipped Alabama and only lost because of a fumble at the goal line and a blocked extra point. Some moron talking head on the radio said yesterday that Arkansas "pushed us around" and that's why he was picking Alabama. So I went and looked up the stats for our game against Arkansas and compared them to Alabama's game against Arkansas. Turns out it was Alabama that got pushed around. Bama only had 10 first downs and 227 total yards. Of that, they only had 66 rushing yards. And that was with a healthy Yeldon. Arkansas had 335 total yards. Yes, Arkansas out gained Bama by OVER 100 YARDS. The reason Bama won that game is because Arkansas turned it over 3 times, including a fumble as the guy was going in for a touchdown. We had 19 first downs and 459 yards of offense against Arkansas, including 128 rushing yards while the Hogs had 401 total yards. We also lost the turnover battle 3-1 and still won the game by a touchdown. It's like Alabama's season before the Texas A&M game didn't exist, and everyone is kissing Alabama's *** just because they are Alabama. God I hope we win convincingly this Saturday and shut everyone up for good.

Someone was making these same ridiculous arguments comparing us to FSU. The Noles coming from behind and squeaking out close wins meant they were clutch! They're battle tested! They had "it"! Us winning the way we did against UK and Arkansas meant we are a house of cards that will be exposed...any week now. Essentially people see what they want to see based on the name on the front of the jersey. Because nobody loves, loves, Loves, LOVES the status quo like college football.

a 'trend' would be something that continues to happen in the same direction. The only thing to think 'trend' about in the way the past two seasons ended is that we were bowl eligible both seasons. NOTHING else is similar. We faltered down the stretch in 2012, we came on strong to finish 2013.

Not worthy of continuing to mention that this guy is a moron. The ASU schedule is just dumb.
