Rick, if you’re reading this, you left off a significant 2 at the end.

Dak would need to QB 222 years (not 22) to make 8.9B

Like my buddy used fro say
$40M here, $40M there.... pretty soon, we are talking about some real money

Think it’s past time to get that man a statue in the Junction.

I think there could be a really good debate on whether or not he deserves one.

He's the best player in our history, for sure. But his best season we finished outside of the top 10, lost the Egg Bowl, lost the bowl game, and didn't win the West. Is that statue worthy?

I wouldn't think so.

Yes, he deserved the Heisman in 2014. But he didn't win. That is the statue criteria at Auburn. Alabama only gives statues to coaches that win titles. The simple fact is none of these were accomplished.

Had he won the Heisman and our season stayed the same, I would vote yes on the statue. Right now, I would probably vote no. Cause once you set the bar at what Dak accomplished, several folks could jump over it without having something tangible (SEC west banner, for example).

At this point, if you give Dak a statue... don't you have to consider giving Fitz one? He's the all-time leading QB rusher in SEC history.

Anyone that thinks we should have the same statue criteria as Alabama and Auburn just doesn't like statues.

What I wouldn't give for us to set the bar at Dak and then have that bar exceeded by a bunch of other players. If we were fortunate enough to run into that problem, we could just move the bar.

At this point, if you give Dak a statue... don't you have to consider giving Fitz one?

Did goat get ahold of your password? This is one of the more insanely idiotic things I've read in a long time. Fitz was great player for us, but Dak is on a completely different level and it goes way beyond raw stats. It's a combination of his stats, the number 1 ranking, multiple SI covers, the publicity, the overwhelming popularity with the fan base, what he's doing in the NFL, he's as famous and recognizable as any football player on the planet, he loves us back, he is probably going to bank over a quarter of a billion dollars over the next decade and could single handedly build us a football IPF, etc., etc......the sum of all of his parts put him far above any football player in our history and definitely make him worthy of a statue.

Now all that said, I think we should wait 6 or 8 years.....that way, when he is overwhelmed by the memories and outpouring of love at the unveiling, he will have a couple hundred mill on hand and can properly express his gratitude.

If you want a statue for football at Mississippi State it would have to be Allyn McKeen. If it had to be a player then our only one in CFB Hall of Fame would be the one, DD Lewis.

If that is your statue criteria, then no MSU football player or coach will ever have a statue on campus for as long as the earth is spinning on its axis.

Of course, that’s NOT our statue criteria. We already have statues of two players in our most fabled sport who never even finished higher than 3rd in any season...not even to mention statues of military generals who went winless in civil wars.

I don’t want to speak for him, but what I think we are both saying is that.... Of all the players weve ever seen in Maroon and White, Dak is most deserving of a statue. But there is certainly a debate to be had on where our statue line should be drawn and where Dak falls on that line. If Dak is the bar, I’d be ok with that. But I don’t think I’d have a problem with anyone who says Dak didn’t meet statue threshold, from an on-the-field-accomplishment perspective. He’s our best, no doubt though.
