We're in no-man's land. Comfortably host, long shot for a national seed. We need some nice wins (Vandy) to start making a case for a National Seed. Knocking off A&M tomorrow is almost like kissing your cousin.
Imagine that we beat USC and aTm...
And USC takes out Vandy in the loser's bracket. If we get out of our half of the bracket without playing Vandy once, have we really proven anything?

I think a national seed is a lost cause. Only chance I see is if we run the table on the tournament and I think that bay just get us a brief mention. While I think we comfortably host I have seen selection committees take a big dump on us before. I want to see us make as deep a run in the tourney as possible. If for nothing else than to hopefully get us a more favorable super regional matchup.
Well, yes and no. The 'no' is the fact that the RPI wins over Vandy would mean more to us than the SEC tournmament title. The 'yes' is that we will have proven that we're better than South Car. Might help us avoid a UNC or Vandy match up in the Supers.
I see your point and it is valid. I do think it would show that we beat a top 15 team and possible host team 3 out of 4 times we played them. I just want to see our win total as high as possible come host site discussions.
