I hear people say that we were not prepared for the LA Tech game. Not prepared???? Haha...that's the dumbest thing I've heard in a long time. What do you think we have been doing since early August, playing Jenga??? Bottom line is this, players didn't execute. You put players in a position to succeed...that is your job as a coach. Croom gave these players every opportunity to be successful. What happened was that after we threw a couple INT's our team got shook and WC or none of the so called "leaders" on the team stepped up and slapped them back into place. Last yeah Avery Hannible or Titus Brown would have slapped the crap out of WC and let him know that he better step his game up! Coaches yelling at you doesn't quite have the same effect as when a team mate does. Croom had nothing to do with J. Smith turning into Willie Mays on the punt return. Sure the coach gets some of the blame because he is, after all, the coach but this crap is getting ridiculous. We give these young men a free ride at a major university to preform and when they don't you blame them!!!!! Not anyone else!!! If they are man enough to sign a contract with your school and be treated like celebrities in high school then darn-it, they are old enough to get the blame to. If a player isn't working hard enough then it's that kids fault because they are given the opportunity to do so. These coaches can't watch them every second to make sure they arn't cutting corners or slacking. You just have to trust that the kid is working like he is supposed to. This isn't only a game to these players, it's a job because we pay a lot of money to them (through scholly's) to preform a task. They have been trained, they have been educated, now they have to step up like they have been taught to do.
