I guess they also lack hotels. It'll be interesting to see their stadium in orange as well

I live in Oxford. The traffic yesterday afternoon and last night might have been the worst I’ve seen it in my 10 years here.

I know every State fan will disagree with me but I will laugh if OM rolls those smug bastards today and Lane says he is staying. (Then goes to Miami later in December)

The arrogance of Florida fans in all this, really makes me dislike them. They were pretty bad in Starkville last year too.

I think that he ends up staying. Until January when the season is over and then go goes to the nfl. He'll probably sign something with um with low buy out in order to be able to do this

I'm beginning to think that those who actually care about Kiffin are in proportion to the people who have to decide who should be the quarterback today. Most people don't care where he goes or what he does, but there is a 50/50 split among those who do and those who don't. Of course, I've been wrong before.

"the playoffs"

It's cute that people actually believe the first two rounds are anything but the warm up opening acts for the main event. 😂
You can’t seriously be wearing maroon glasses so think to believe just getting into the playoffs isn’t a massive deal. There are maybe a handful of programs in the country who would legitimately be mad about losing in the first two rounds.

Boise State. Arizona State. Tennessee. SMU.

Massive deal for all of them in 2024. Massive. It's called the warm up opening acts for the main event.

Massive.

It’s still the playoffs. I would kill to be a part of “the opening act”
Yes many programs feel that way. Honor for 1 week or 2 weeks that is forgotten by everyone in 2 weeks.

What is the cost and value of that. Not as much as you think

It's essentially a new years 6 now with the expansion. It's just if you lose then you've lost out on a destination trip if you lose at home.

It is not essentially a NY 6. If you win, you keep playing. The number of upsets and near upsets this season tell a very different story than yours. Also, what team wouldn’t give up a destination trip every single time to host a playoff game? You act as if that’s actually a negative. The amount of publicity over who could be picked for the playoffs should be enough data to show how important it is to be in it.

If given these two options, which one would 99.99% of all coaches, players, and fans take?

A. Go 10-2, make the playoffs, lose first round and end 10-3, but you had the chance to keep playing.

B. Go 10-2, miss the playoffs, win your destination bowl game, and end 11-2 with no chance to keep playing.

All true but you act like ny6 wasn't that great either. It's great to get to a ny6. I'm just making the point that this is the easiest year ever to get to the playoffs and to get there is essentially the equivalent of getting to a ny6 this year. Unless you get a bye of course.

There has never been more parity in the sport than there is now. Ole Miss took Georgia to the wire on the road a few weeks ago. They can beat anyone. They can also lose to anyone. They almost did to Washington State.
Did you miss the part where Georgia said we are done playing around and limited Ole Miss to a single yard in the 4th and then scored on the Rebels at will? Making sure we saw the same game the entire nation saw.

When did the Rebels get their first ranked road win? Against a top 5 team? That's what the final two games of the real actual playoffs are. Ain't happening. There's another tier of a football program that are actual natty contenders. This tier regularly wins road games against top ten teams. Regularly.

It’s explicitly different than NY6 because you can keep playing if you win. It’s also better because I seriously don’t think the NY6 bowl games got nearly as much publicity as these playoff games.

They have just as good a chance as anyone to win the whole thing.
You are free to believe that in la la land. If every game was at VH then maybe half a chance. Why doesn't Vegas agree with that "as good of a chance as anyone"?

Tennessee "had a chance" last year. If the first game is at VH the Rebs probably win it. That's the last win of the year so enjoy it.

I know how it works. Getting in this year is equivalent to getting in a ny6. Get past the first round and then yeah, you've accomplished more.
