This is OUR Marshall Henderson

Listening to the BSR on the way to the gulf and a topic they had got me thinking. Has State ever had an athlete that has had this many or similar issues as Henderson? The discussed the only one I could think of and it was Sidney. While he had issues I don't think they compare to Hendersons. So, who is OUR Henderson?

Marcus Bullard had a pretty vagrant repertoire. He just wasn't as cocky / arrogant as MH.
(I think) he is incarcerated now. Given time I believe MH will be too.

Bullard was on probation when we signed him, and had to leave school for violating his probation by possessing a gun. I'm not sure what he did privately, but publicly, he basically just kept his mouth shut and played basketball in between. I actually think he was a good bit better basketball player than Henderson. He would have blown up if he'd had the chance to be the #1 option on the team.

Wow, I just read up on his rap sheet. Arrested for crack, pistol whipped a rival frat guy and landed in the pokie, arrested for coke and ecstasy, then did a drive-by a little over a year ago. Model citizen right there.

I interviewed Marcus several times after games for the Reflector. Soft-spoken guy. Always repectful to the media. Usually had a good quote about the action of the game.

That was the Final 4. I was there sitting about 1/2 mile up from his right shoulder. But I was there.

Smoot in no way, shape, or form resembles Henderson. Henderson is a disgrace to UM, a convicted drug user, and a piece of **** person. Smoot is loved by our university, loves boats and hoes, and is a good guy from what I know.

Fred Smoot spoke at the QB club in Starkville last year on Thursday night before one of the home games last year and was a great speaker.

He is a great Bulldog. If you ever get a chance to hear him speak to an MSU audience don't pass it up.

He is a Bulldog through and through.

When I was a kid I used to sit with marcus at the women's basketball games. He was so nice to me - used to give me gear and introduced me to the rest of the team got me autographs etc. I was one sad little guy when he got sent away. We actually wrote a few times. It has perplexed me as I've grown older that someone who went out of his way to be so nice to a random kid for no reason at all could do the things he's done. The man clearly has some demons he can't shake.
